Finally, some people who actually understand how to run a business are in charge of Intel. The previous CEO nearly ran the company into the ground, destroyed morale, took on ridiculous debt and let d-mb mo--ns run TD and Design. The road ahead will be long and hard, but at least this is a leader who knows how to run a business and is actually fixing the mess he inherited instead of pandering to politicians and spending money on cruises in the Caribbean.

Haha. You make me laugh.
DZ is still the CFO, so your point is moot.
@ce ... at that time their were at least 4 people being groomed for the CEO roll and both PO and PG were outsiders by most people's estimation. Shawn Maloney would have been a better choice than either of them.
Pat should have been the CEO instead of Otellini. Otellini turned away the iPhone and did not act when it became obvious that deep neutral networks would become an important technology. The following CEOs were more concerned about getting the company via buybacks than developing the best products and process tech. Pat may have overspent on the fabs and said some things he should not have...over promised, under delivered and too much of a nice guy but to make tough cuts earlier, but by the end of the year, I think he will be credited with fixing the process tech which takes several years based on how far behind Intel fell under prior CEOs.
Some people or some id--ts you are dreaming of ?
And who exactly are these people?
