Rewards for the Unique

So anyone here happy only the unique get rewarded when they're also lacking at their jobs and pushing everyone below them harder to work more? Leads said they were coming up with a plan for the rest of us but nothing's been done. Love how they made a quick decision on who gets rewarded but everyones else gets the short end of the stick on how fast they decide on how the rest will get rewarded. Fun times

@2ar Correct, I am a former employee from many years ago, and quite dismayed at what has happened to this once great company. So, if you don’t mind, for the benefit of the uninitiated, would you or someone explain the meaning of unique in this context?

@ew why is that a bad thing? even in other corporations where there is PTO rather than FTO, senior people who have been with the company longer rack up more hours than someone who has only been there a couple of years

I had the good surprise to discover my manager had set me up as unique before he knew it would have the consequences it has. I was of course happy but i don t like the system as I believe we work as a team and encouraging only some of us will encourage bad behaviour and is so dependant on manager s appréciation. Also I was considered unique but was quite downgraded at the last reorg to flatten the pyramid so not sure where it brought me really...
If i can help it i won t be here in a year time to collect the fourth of shares I had.

I know someone who is San Diego based Staff/Principal eng (cannot reveal more), who is always taking vacations year round. I wonder that person is someone who knows higher up so that his/her job is safe.

Anyone you know that was actually unique below AD? My team was not using the unique bit really, as if someone would take it then others would have to receive a very small bonus.
