No i wanted to be a developer of some sort. Didn't finish school for that, instead pivoted into something else and landed a job at Intel after finishing school. Felt great, felt like I finally had a real job. I still like working there, it's actually a great place to work for techs at least.
I was dreaming to make great products for people to use if I join. Then I found out this sh---y place is full of id--ts just know how to use excel and powerpoint so I left.
I literally once dreamed of getting an internship at Intel. Grew up building computers. A big reason I went into EE was to work at Intel some day.
When I was young, yes. Intel was the goal.
Now, that dream involves an R, unimproved roads and starlink.
When I got hired at Intel, it felt like winning the lottery. Prestige, more money than I'd ever made, stock options, perks, etc. When people asked where I worked, I was proud to say Intel, and they were always impressed. It really was my dream job. These days, it's just a job.
Not growing up but when I was in college in the early 1990s as an engineer it was absolutely the top choice. We truly were a beast back in the day.
I dreamed of using science to make great products for people. After working at Intel I found out they fake results to sell the worst products possible to customers at the cheapest price and skip science.
@cd ... Intel employees love to dwell in the past. Ah, the good old days when there was no competition... we miss Andy G.
Past is past and it does not matter now.
I dreamed of being a male pole dancer.
@ad That’s the right skill set to be an Intel manager, congratulations!
I'm stupid and lazy and have no goals so, yea, this job is a dream come true.
I grew up always wanting a pentium processor. I was so proud when I started at intel in 2017 - always asking people what chip they had in their computers. Management changed all that. What a fall from grace… :(
More like 30 years
Yes this was the place to be 10 years ago.
