Where is the strategy and execution plan with the 20% cut

I get it we are fat, get it we are slow, have to many levels and got too many people.

What’s the plan when we cut another 20% everywhere, will the remaining bozos, managers, PE, SPE, VPs all of a sudden wake up and know how to work more efficiently, faster or just be fewer headless chickens ?

What’s the plan or should I hope they cut me from this $hitshow?

@b3 Hiring vets (who at a minimum know how to work under a military command structure) is not DEI. It's common sense. Working as a technician in the fab is not that complicated. Sure, it has its moments. But most everything is procedural which vets are highly adept at dealing with. Besides, most of the issues with technicians aren't technical, they are behavioral. And that can be the case with anyone regardless of their background. And no, I'm not a vet myself. But I've worked with many.

OP, why do you feel that they have to share anything with you? This is one of Intel's problems, everyone thinks they are part of the decision making process. Shut up, do your job, collect your pay check... if they want more from you they will ask. If everybody did this the company would run far better.

You understand for the past 20 years, everyone was hired specifically to not build factories and just repair old equipment until it breaks. People thought they were smart, but they were allowed to be promoted because they proved their ignorance in building new factories. Nobody knows how to build factories anymore. They have to retrain everyone or replace everyone with actual factory industry experts. Anything less is just a Bain Capital strategy to sell the company for scraps.

@ax The only DEI I’ve ever been forced to engage in at Intel is preference for military veterans. A lot of fab technicians came to Intel with only the experience of changing tires on Humvees for a few years. That is considered preferable to someone with an associate’s degree

With many ICs gone who do you think is going to do any real work? There will continue to be an abundance of low performers, the unmotivated, constant vacation/medical leave folks and then our esteemed VPs, Managers, SPEs. Do the math.
LBT is just waiting for it to come down to 50K and then take it private after he sells anything that will sell like a garage sale

The plan is a fu--ing lie, LBT is juicing the stock price and trying to collect as much labor from people as possible before shuffling them out the door.

We're founders of a new Intel, our bones are being mixed into the foundation.
