Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

What's up with "path'?

Does anyone feel like the metrics of evaluation are getting more intense at F5? What's going on? Does this signal anything to be worried about?

@OP Path? It's another HR BS. Where are paths they promised two years ago?

@gw It is a minority union, meaning it doesn't have the legal power to collectively bargain with Google over things like pay and benefits.

There was a leadership change in HR about a year ago. The current leader is infamous for having overseen mass layoffs at Google which caused employees there to organize labor unions.

@ca Clueless people who "run" the show need to mimic other companies as they have no idea how to run the business on their own and make projects successful. Make no mistake. It's not about performance (what the f even mean, working overtime for free?). It's about firing people with no severance packages, cutting costs (except for useless "status checkers"), and moving to India. Good luck.

what is even more worrying is that we're adopting the microsoft model of performance managemet, with a manager being required to set a certain percentage of their team as lowperforming in order to eventually manage them out with "supported exits". the culture of f5 will change dramatically
