Typical Stockholm Psycology." I don’t really buy that. I don’t think CPChem is out there scheming like some cartoon villains. Even if they were that messed up, I don’t think they hate us that much. I think they’re just not thinking it through -- typical CPChem leadership at HQ.
But dragging things out like this makes zero sense. If you’re trying to hang onto good people, this isn’t the way to do it. Even if you survive this round, there's no way things are "going back to normal" if it's true they're cutting corners with outsourcing and off-shoring. We're going to be stuck with broken-down systems and cr-p support.
Anyway, the rest of your advice hits the nail on the head. Everybody take care of yourself. CPChem is not your “family,” no matter what the LT and HR say. And there’s almost never just one round of layoffs.

Typical Stockholm Psycology. My advice, stop worrying, do your job. Clean up your resume, post for 10 job postings. Its all you can do. But just remember, the very thing that upsets you is the total loss of confidence of CPCHEM leadership. Its like finding out your trusted spouse has been cheating on you and wants to divorce you for some fat slob. The how? The whys? Are never answered. Take care of yourself first!
