Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

This is going nowhere

I can’t see any sensible pattern to these layoffs. If there were real commitment to recovery and a clear vision of what success looks like, we’d see a much more coherent and deliberate approach to reorganization and headcount reductions. Instead, valuable people are being let go, and teams are being gutted with the precision of a blunt we-pon. Is there an actual endgame here that could genuinely turn things around for Intel, or is this just death by a thousand cuts, meant only to delay the inevitable?

Cost cutting never works during market share losses. Only a competitive product lineup both in price and performance along with on-time delivery will prevent this ship from resting on the ocean floor.

I don't believe OP knows where nowhere is.

@c3 half of what you state has nothing to do with Intel. Win 11 is a Microsoft product. Lenovo, Dell, and HP are companies no products. They use hardware from vendors other than Intel.

Chapter 7 on the way ! Intel board failed us big time ! x86d legacy ! Win11 sux ! Lenovo Dell HP are mundane products ! Apple and NVidia jammed us hard !

Unless you are high enough, you won't. But, don't discount the FLM/Employee relationship.
We lost 2 in our group. Given where foundry is headed, 1 of them would have been the last I would have let go. He-l, I would have expected to get cut before them.

Presumably, after enough customer conversations and figuring out IFS, clarity and strategy will come. No cart before horse. This is the saddle.

Vision? Just be humble. Nothing beyond that, which is an indication that the current leadership has no plan other than making sure the company doesn't just disappear (and they are failing at that too)

@OP I don't know how to come terms with this. I worked hard to get to where I am and to think of just one man controlling my destiny is beyond comprehension
