As someone else has mentioned here there are currently a lot of communication-type roles being advertised at Aramco via LinkedIn. I've not seen much about that department on here, except it being called a waste of space, huge, and some bits about some dodg-e directors. Is it really that bad? Input appreciated!

This dept has very high turnover and has been under investigation for all sorts of stinky stuff. Avoid.
To the gent considering a job in communications. They are probably looking for expats because there is a problem with an existing system or looking to implement something new.
If you prove not to be be good at your job, you will be laid off, it one of your rotating supervisors does not like you, you will be laid off, if you successfully complete your task, you will be laid off. In summary, you will be laid off.
There are plenty of young Saudis with decent IT skills that they are taking on as contractors to deal with the day to day stuff.
The stories are all true here. It is really bad. No respect from the company and they dont give a dam aboit you. Your are just the hired help. No training, no advancent. Why would they want you to improve and advance? They won"t promote you.
They will lay you off after 3 months
Thanks for the reply @bw+1jqesbpa6 but was hoping for something more specific to the Communications part of the business. If anyone has any inside info that would be great. Considering applying for a job I saw...
One thing you have to remember is that Aramco is not a real company. They act like one but not. People are there for money (mostly from other parts of the world), and ok to be servant to Saudis. Things dont need to make sense here. Just collect the pay check and enjoy life
