Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Chuck out, welcome to our new CEO Gary!

Quite a few internal and external sources have confirmed that Chuckie is out on Wednesday, falling on the sword. We might get lucky and have Fran go along, however only Chuck is confirmed at this point. After Gary gets a feel for the business and digests his observations. Another LR is coming in October and it will be at least 25-75% larger than this one.

It would be too early for Gary to take over. He doesn't know anything about Cisco's business. It will take him at least two quarters to fully understand the business before taking any drastic actions

"It's not just the customer experience. Used to, there were support teams split between East coast, West coast, and India to "follow the sun" and provide support to the employee or customer during their local business hours and hand off escalated support to the next time zone so that it could work around the clock if the customer or employee needed it to. Then it became East coast and India support only. Now it's almost all India support. I'm tired of opening an internal support case and having it sit for hours unassigned and then at 2-3AM in the morning some support agent in India pings me on Webex and says "Hi NAME." "This is regarding INC12345678" and then wait for you to respond, except you can't because you're asleep. And when you see it the next morning, they're "do not disturb" until the middle of the night."

Makes you wonder how long before L1 offshore jobs go AI.

When they do away with all of the off shore ... Biggest mistake ever as far as csco and the customer experience goes.

I do think CSCO board members want to see their stock increase beyond $60/share.

How this is accomplished is another question.

Chuckles has not delivered well, only proceeded to lead Cisco to acquire non-traditional networking companies while promising this vision of transformation from traditional networking to software, and perpetual to subscription licensing.

Perhaps this takes more time, or a change in leadership. One thing is for certain, institutional investors want higher returns on their shares.

I don't think this will be immediate, however if anyone is watching what is happening it is clear Cisco is setting up Gary to take over as CEO.

Quickly going from EVP and GM of Splunk to President of Cisco Global Sales. It will probably happen in the next few years, maybe have Chuck hits 10 years at Cisco but not today.

Also Chuck could take a win at any time (or his version of a win), Cisco stock is double what it was when he started

I think this post is B/S, but I wouldn't be surprised to see C. step down.

Even if this does happen, it will take a decade for any meaningful improvement.

When they do away with all of the off shore and H1B cr-p that will be a good start to the company recovering. Biggest mistake ever as far as csco and the customer experience goes.

Something unique about Steve Jobs was he actually tried out Apple products before they shipped.

The last person to do that was Rowan T. Look how well that worked out.

apparently he just signed a new 5 year contract with Cisco so I wouldn’t be so sure

That’s exactly why Chuck is leaving now. He can say “mission accomplished” and look like it’s on his terms. Then Gary can be the new guy with carte Blanche to hack and slash.

Unless there is an enormous earnings miss almost zero chance of a CEO exit. Rumor mongering at its best.

Something unique about Steve Jobs was he actually tried out Apple products before they shipped. If they didn’t meet the bar, they didn’t ship. Cisco needs this too, along with a good competitive intelligence arm to get an idea what everyone else is doing. If our CEO can’t do this, we deserve what’s coming. No customer will want what we’re providing if there’s not that last bit of assurance. Sorry, but that’s just how it is. If that CEO happens to be of an Indian background, that’s fine with me. We need someone who just isn’t into accounting and sales. If our products su-k, they won’t sell. Regards of how great our pipeline is.

Next CEO name would be from “Sathyam Shivam Sundaram”.

If Cisco really wants to revamp itself, then it needs a CEO from India or at least Asia, aka, Sundar, Sathya and Huang. The American CEOs have no passion, talks like limp, synthesised, gutless robots. Technically zero. Days of kicka$$ CEO American bred CEOs were over with Steve and Bill.

Before anyone starts their abusive rants, I am American myself.

If ole Chuckie voluntarily resigns, then I’ll eat my shoe. The guy is a massive narcissist. Do you really think he would admit any mistakes and fall on the sword? Won’t happen.

He did it at Splunk. Look how much he cut and how much we overpaid. Hopefully he can do the same at Cisco.
