Interns should be joining our teams soon. How much are they making this year? $30hr still? Higher than the average technician wage right?

Sorry late to this thread.
"$30hr still? Higher than the average technician wage"
Your techs are being shafted. I was making that twenty years ago at that other company.
Hahahahahs The director of central finance planning at Globalfoundries just announced he is leaving hahahaha
cvs caremark really did stop covering an anti organ rejection dr-g my family member was taking a few years ago unless we got it from their mail order. Is it possible this would work in your case?
Regarding health benefits, when getting prescription Rx, you should be using your CVS Caremark Prescription card and not your MVP Healthcare card.
I had the same issue with a Rx not being covered under the formulary and had to pay $65 but then realized they were not using my CVS caremark card then I paid $5.
@2eao you know you are are crapping on yourself, right? how did you end up at GF?
401k switch? Fidelity kicks the sh-t out of prudential…. Why make the change??
And now prudential sold it off to someone else…..
Come on man
You really think they did this to benefit us? If so who ever is making these choices are mo--ns. But as other posts have pointed out GF doesn’t attract top tier talent. I am sure the finance and accountants at GF were TOP of their class… haha…. I bet all of them as soon as they got their degrees screamed at top of their lungs “I am going to work for my first choice GF!!”
This ain’t rocket science. Walks like a duck quacks like a duck it’s must be…..
Where there’s smoke there’s fire….
Trust your gut…. It’s not on the up and up at GLOBALFOUNDRIES.
@1qho sorry you're ill, but on your last point I have to disagree. At least looking at TSMC, Samsung and Wolfspeed, the benefits are on par. This is comparing benefit overviews provided by recruiters over the past year
Yo can we talk about that.
Something is up with the health insurance at GF and 401k etc - the benefits.
I don’t think we are being told the whole story. It’s really weird and leadership is cagey about it when asked. The answers they do provide aren’t really answers.
I am def getting a vibe of we aren’t being told the truth or whole story inregards to all the changes to benefits… it’s making very weary and suspicious….
Either something shady is going on or HR etc genuinely screwed up again and covering stuff up…
Either eat something feels off or not right about what is going on
Ah, yes, my health insurance, which sent me a letter that they were removing a dr-g from their formulary and I get to pay more out of pocket for it than I do for my premiums.
The benefits here are bare bones compared to industry peers.
@1cnv can't figure out which position you're coming from... either an extremely privileged one with no hardship, or one where you somehow achieved upward mobility and now look down at people that struggle to do the same or don't have similar success
aside from that post, not sure how accurate @OP's number is. If you look at glassdoor and convert the reported salary to hourly then it's accurate enough. Otherwise I don't think anyone here has any real idea. If $30 makes anyone here feel low, just remember you get benefits and perks like health insurance, 401k match, PTO and other leaves. I swear I'm not HR, just trying to give perspective
Be nice to the interns, they'll be your manager after 6 months fill time.
Complaining and being envious of a 12 week intern position is indicative of low rent mentality. These intern positions are a way incentivizing future employment with these young folks.
For those of you unhappy with your pay, remember, You are being compensated at a level you’re willing to accept.
There are several techs with bachelor's or even multiple degrees and barely clear 30 an hour. I hope this about the interns is false. I make 34 and have >10 years experience. If I find out this is true I'll quit on the spot.
The technicians have a very wide pay scale and many high level ones make far more than entry level engineers and even their managers when you take into account the built in overtime! This is not a job to look down at. They are the ones actually keeping the place running and they should be compensated more than interns
@bsr are you confused? most interns don't have a degree yet. You might also be surprised at the number of technicians that have a bachelor's degree. But don't go looking, you might get more confused
OP a technician ?? then go get ur Bachelor ... and you can get a interns pay per hr
