Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Cannot Split Until IFS is Close to Breakeven

Let's be honest... Intel is not going to be sold or have IFS spun off until IFS has real non-Intel Products revenue (2027). If IFS was spun off today, it would be closed down 18 months from now because there's not enough customer & revenues to support the bloated, obese, and inefficient cost structure. IFS needs Intel Products to subsidize them for at least 2.5 years until IFS has real non-x86 revenue stream, and slice off another 35% or the org (and yes, it'll be a death by another five or six layoffs in IFS until they get close to TSMC staffing ratios).

Is anyone with a functioning brain buying this forecast?

Intel will run out of cash long before this.

@bsa The IFS loses are due to depreciation, and is just accounting loses (mostly expensing money previously spent for buildings & equipment). Just looking at their latest 10Q, Intel had about $4.4B in deprecation, and Operating Loss of -$2.8B. The problem is that as Intel builds out more empty fabs, these losses will continue for many years into the future (and unsustainable without Intel Product subsidizing). TMG losses have been happening for decades, which TMG hid their inefficiencies under the guise of being leading edge is expensive. However, now after spending 8-10 years ba----g their head against the 10nm wall, that excuse is not longer valid, as they are actually behind TSMC, and their spending and costs are seperated for everyone to see.

Pat should tell us specifically what he is going to do to remove the $10 Billion dollar lose this year alone in IFS. Do tell us. For everything we manufacture we wrap a $1000 dollar bill around it. Pat...is clueless...

Sure they can.
Break-even is just a number and Intel can shuffle the numbers around enough to make it look good.
