Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Redeployment Joke

In one week’s time the laid off ADLs will be terminated, applied to nearly 20 plus positions internally but was rejected, tried to set up meetings with the internal hiring manager and the recruiters nobody responded, never thought that the company will treat their employees in this way. In my previous job the company had a similar situation but the difference was they redeployed everybody who wanted it, I feel cheated that I left that company to join C1 only to be laid off. C1 is evil only if they had halted hiring last couple of months, I would not have been in this state.

I think the frustrating thing is that Cap One has publicly and internally said they will “help redeployed folks find roles internally” and have even said there are enough internal open roles for folks who want to stay. That messaging combined with the fact that great high performing Agilists are being ghosted (at best) or pass a PD for a new job family only to hear that hiring an ADL requires SVP approval is hypocritical. No one is entitled to work anywhere, but don’t say you’re trying to keep people and then make it impossible for those who want to stay to do so.

As I understand it there is largely a hiring freeze with exceptions to open a couple refs where entire teams are being redeployed

I am happy that most of the people know that C1 is a predatory lending company and sucks blood out of its poor card holders with bad credit rating, because the head of its card tech a Harvard graduate is oblivious of this fact and believes that C1 is doing some noble work of helping poor people and lending money to them.

Capital One is a predatory lending company, not a tech company. You knew this when you started. You can't act surprised now.

Capone is evil because of these reasons:

Evil predator of the poor who gives them credit cards even though they are high risk and then sues them and garnishes their wages when they default.

Evil performance ranking system that turns to harassment.

Poor mastery of cloud services run amok.

The original poster complained about losing their ADL job and called Capone evil. But Capone is already evil and why should current management and executive employees who have jobs and perpetuated this evil be employed. It seems they the execs need to be fired.

I agree with the last poster. Nobody is forced to work at Capital One. Nobody is promised long term employment. It seems as though most posting here have the expectation that they are entitled to work at this or any other company as long as they choose. That is not the real world folks. Get over it and move on. If this company is so awful, why would you even want to search for a new job in the same toxic environment. Move on and be more successful at a company who can appreciate what Capital One could not.

Interesting point that I think a lot of people are having to internalize… mentioned “I feel cheated that I left that company” and then dropped “evil”
Was it “evil” that your last company had to adjust when decision was made to move on from them? People expect loyalty but in same comment show they didn’t have same??

When were you hired? Maybe they are letting go the new people who are making a higher salary then the old timers.
