Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

They want us to quit on our own

I have nothing against new employees, moreover, I think that this company is taking advantage of them as well. However, to equate us who have given so much to this company and new people who are neither interested in their job nor know how to do it is more than humiliating. In every way, they are trying to get rid of the people to whom, despite everything, a job here means a lot. It is clearly noticeable that some are deliberately put under such pressure to quit on their own. I'm interested in your experiences how they made your job harder until you quit?

The stores are so horribly broken. Once Dept. Mgrs. were gone, the stores went down hill. Not enough cashiers, not enough people to work on the floor. Team Leads running around flustered, doing the work of 4 people. People Leads trying to hire day after day. Stores look a mess, shelves empty. What a shame. Stores look a mess and everyone is stressed.

@bkbg+1dLYHsnm Yep! Nail in the coffin for me was the schedule change. I worked the same shift for almost 10 years and all of a sudden my availability didn’t matter and my days I was unavailable I could not have. This was done to push people out the door and it worked. But I’m glad it happened because it worked out for me. Got a M-F job with more money. If Walmart didn’t s***w me over I would still be there but now I’m making more money and so much happier. Everything does truly happen for a reason. Very thankful for my new job.

I used to roll my eyes when someone would say this, but after the GWP restructure and the options for department managers which by the way use to be Walmarts strongest supporters I can see it now.

I guess enough if them didn't quit so here comes the great schedule change to finish the job.

It sucks that stores are so broken now but the sales keep on coming....

Going cashierless by end of year, going with Self Checkouts and Scan & Go, only 1-2 actual registers..getting rid of long term so there is no severance payout and those left over will get lower paying positions. Both Walmart & Sam's Club's.

This is happening as we speak. I "promoted" myself to cashier 2 years ago and have not regretted it. The pressure and responsibilities put on front end supervisory and management has only gotten worse since then.

They don’t care any store I’ve seen has no standards. It's clear they don't want experience.

Yep! Exactly what Walmart is doing. They want to make it where long term workers will quit on their own. Walmart doesn’t value long term associates. I quit back in May after they started the BS team scheduling. Giving me a shift that was outside my availability when I worked the same shift for almost 10 years. Started applying places, all 4 places I applied too called me back. Found a M-F job with weekends off and PAID holidays and better pay. Less stressed and so much happier. Best decision I ever made was to walk out. Lots of places are hiring. If you can get out asap you will not regret it.

Experiencing this at my store. Won't be long until all experienced management and associates are gone.
