Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Third Anniversary

Today marks the third anniversary of when a sleazy district(market) manager perp walked me to an office and told me I no longer worked at Walmart as a pharmacist. The way the company treated me while I worked there and the way they ended my career was abysmal. To quote a line from the move Christmas Story “They know their shame”. They will answer for their actions if not in this life they will in the next.

What’s a pekkar?

@bjpx

The way you address other posters has left very little doubt about the size of your pekkar.

Now you’re talking. Any discussion about pekkar size is an improvement over the “Woe is me”, “Boo hoo Walmart got rid of me” posts!!!!
If someone is bitter three years after anything happens, that’s probably an indication of an emotional or psychological issue. Ok, Walmart laid some folks off. Companies do that. Why are we talking about this from over three years ago?

Show me the part of the 'people were chosen AT RANDOM by computer algorithm by a third party ' .

@Timmyslilpp and other dude who said this story is bogus:

https://www.ibtimes.com/walmart-layoffs-retailer-eliminate-40-percent-its-pharmacists-2803631

The numbers check out as does the date of the article. You got anything to back up your drivel other than the rhetorical equivalent of "Huh UHHHH!"?

BTW: Why do you know so much about the diminutive size of Timmy's pekkar?

Yes, it is far fetched that Walmart would do that. And of course, it didn’t happen like that at all.

'and the people were chosen AT RANDOM by computer algorithm by a third party so the company would have plausible deniability and couldn't be sued.'

Perhaps the d-mbest line I have evert read on this forum. How on earth did you arrive at this 'fact' and no it isn't true. No organization has ever done this . Plausible deniability lol. You have been watching to much law and order.

Boo hoo. You can’t get over something that happened 3 years ago? Why is that such a personal cross to bear for you? I would think by now you’d have grown and moved on. If it helps, we can all feel sorry for you. We’ll all do it tomorrow. I’m sure everything will be all better soon.

To the OP

Sorry the others on this thread do not even understand what happened in the pharmacy 3 years ago. It was brutal. For those too ignorant to learn the facts before posting, there was a purge of pharmacy personnel nationwide. It took out as much as 40% of senior pharmacy staff (read those with the highest pay and most PTO) and the people were chosen AT RANDOM by computer algorithm by a third party so the company would have plausible deniability and couldn't be sued. The people who lost their jobs had done nothing wrong. They were removed from the pharmacy and walked out the door like criminals. I was not terminated in this manner, so I am just telling you what happened.

To the OP. I am so, so sorry that this happened to you and hope that you have found peace. This company is not worth your health or happiness. Those in management who made these decisions and those that carried them out are the corporate equivalent of a guard at Auschwitz. Karma is real. They will eventually get what they have earned.

Perp walked you, eh? What did you perpetrate? Did you show up every day late? Did you have a chip on your shoulder? Did you have that “I’m perfect and never wrong” attitude? Were you a pain in the b-m to your coworkers? We’re you a colossal thorn in the backside of management? Your post makes it sound like you were the perfect angelic employee. But, you know, they don’t perp walk perfect angelic employees to a back room to fire them. One thing here, if it’s been three years, it’s time to move on now. I’d say you might benefit from some reflection back to those days to ensure whatever behavior got you fired then doesn’t get you fired again. And besides, what’s the point of dredging all this up again now? Are you still hurt over what happened three years ago? Grow up. Be an adult. Move on.
