Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Can you get hired as a contractor if you get NSI and leave via PIL or a failed PIP.

Can you get hired as a contractor if you get NSI and leave via PIL or a failed PIP? How long of a separation is there if you can come back as a contractor? I know you sign away your rights to ever apply with Exxonmobil or its affiliates but I have seen some people who failed PIP or took the PIL and they are back with Exxonmobil as a contractor. What’s the time frame before coming back as a contractor after PIP or PIL?

After leaving through the PIL option I thought after a couple of years I would goof around and reapply to roles and I’ve been contacted multiple times for interviews to fill those roles.

So, doesn’t seem like HR is doubling checking anything.

Why would you want to go back under any circumstances? It's a sh1t Company with sh1t managers and they told You that You svck. Get some dignity and move on

@ar this argument assumes there is any logic to the choice of those who get pip'd.
There will be lots of people with specific skill sets required by sites who didn't do the right amount of self advertising and get pip'd as a result. They can come back on $$$, don't have to worry about PDS and do a job they enjoy. It's the dream.

People who were laid off 2020 can come back or come back contract.

I was told the PIP exits were not eligible to come back.

A good friend of mine hit laid off back in 2020 by our incompetent supervisor.
His role could not be fulfilled by BTC after multiple attempts.
The supervisor asked me to ask if he would come back as as contractor.
He said “F**K THEM!!!”

I had to ask 😂

If you retire you can come back as a contractor via a 3rd party consulting firm. You will be paid on a $$ per hour basis with no benefits.

If you are NSI'd and you take the pay-in-lieu (PIL), you must sign a document that says you will not return to ExxonMobil forever.

I don't know anyone who was piped that returned. Number one why the he-l would you want to come back to a company that piped you in the first place. Number two the company has deemed you unworthy and under performing so why would exxon want a inferior employee back. All piped employees I know said there was wording that stated the piped employee would not seek future employment with exxon or its affiliates. Some people love the punishment and torture at exxon. It is like prisoners in prison getting institutionalized. Once you get out you should never want you come back to this he-l. I think you need professional mental help.
