Thread regarding Optum layoffs

MANDATORY Culture training, in the new year...

Given our current workforce culture ratio(s), this is curious to me. Are WE to become more like THEM, or are THEY going to become more like us?

You have to be more like them. Start scamming little old ladies out of their gift cards or you might soon find yourself not fitting the culture.

@a9 Exactly! The amount of $$ spent on the WeCare Bear to go around to offices - what a farce! Anyone remember the doc who spoke at the Culture propaganda fest a few yrs ago? Said she got to the office at 5am and worked nonstop and glorified that to be the norm!

@bf lol as one of the ppl having to hound others for billing code for full on projects and not getting responses even though we can’t turn the work down, I can share that if they’re asking for codes it’s bc their leaders and Finance are breathing down their necks to charge time “appropriately”. There’s a naughty list and Sr leadership makes you go back and adjust time if you charge to generic or Ops codes.

@ak the communication one ki-ls me because when I need to talk to someone on another team they tell me to give them a project number to bill to in order for them to answer a 2 minute question.

This is probably a “quiet layoff” tactic. Make everyone return to the office and those that won’t quit.

It’s a code for they are flying all 32+ to MN in the dead of winter to give them a spanking on not going 100x and not being AI First.

Our team has a monthly "Culture Call." Recently we heard about the importance of showing gratitude. (Gratitude? Like the "Bravo!" awards that no longer have any cash value? Or the 401K match that's being reduced from 4.5% to just 3.5%?) One of my favorite topics is Communication. An expert tells us how important it is and everyone on the call gives a big Thumbs-Up. Less than an hour later most go back to sending emails with ambiguous wording or without any context.

How about skip the Culture training and put that money back into our 401k so we don't all have to take a 1% total comp cut (well, all except our top leaders I am guessing).

I guarantee these culture retreats in January won’t be in snowy MN. Perhaps something tropical for our deserving leadership? 😜

Can’t wait for all those Sparq posts of office parties in India and the Philippines.

It's just another reason to lay people off when "you don't fit the culture".
