Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

There's nothing wrong with 'quiet quitting'

Everybody is attacking 'quiet quitting' as something slackers do because we've been indoctrinated to believe that if we're not staying extra hours, working on weekends, and overall breaking our backs for the company, we're not doing enough. That's bull ex------t. The so-called 'quiet quitting' is how we should be doing our job. It's not advocating for being lazy, it's just making sure that we're not sacrificing our lives for the job. Do the job you're paid to do and live your life. Don't give the company 110% and countless extra hours. That shouldn't be the norm. I'm happy the younger generations are realizing that.

It is time to abolish the FLSA salary act just like slavery was abolished. It was a bad idea signed under a Richard Nixon. Pay overtime. This will stop the great resignation. Companies have not yet figured this out. I probably would have worked longer had this law not existed.

@bch+1ioyzGWm when I was in claims, a manager always made sure to reassign files of former employees asap. The last thing they’d want is a complaint call on an unassigned file. They made sure to stick it on a rep who was already overwhelmed with their own pending. This way they don’t have to deal with it. Some of these neglected files would have problems like claimants being in rental cars for weeks on end with no cut off in sight. Claims is truly he-l on earth.

Quiet quitting is what corporations call it when employees refuse to be abused just because they are labeled “salaried.” Frankly, it is correct to say it can’t be done in claims. Miss a deadline & you can be fired. If you try to meet ur deadlines, you work 60 hours a week!

When I was there it seemed everyone had already quiet quit already especially since we all worked from home. Adjusters would be showing as idle for 3-4 hours at a time. Some had second jobs they were working at the same time hah. No wonder the customer service was atrocious.

Yes OP is correct. I left the company three months ago in claims and was just informed that the company never even bothered to transfer my claims. So for THREE MONTHS nothing was moved. The poor customers. Amazing the company would allow that.

Protect yourself..quit anyway that you choose. You do not owe Allstate or anyone at Allstate anything…
They do not care about you or your well being….
Do what is best for your peace of mind…

Yup. If you fall behind they just keep the work coming. It is insanity that any carrier should be allowed to drag out claims like we do.

That’s kinda impossible with claims because if you fall behind the pack you’re out. So you have to do everything including working those extra hours to get the numbers.
