Do they reference them at all? Key words maybe? I am considering removing any references in my past work experiences with brackets.

Ford needs clean up - no question in it.
Ford failed to establist a system for perfect resuorce planning and resource management.
This became a 10 years garbage collection drive now. so this may go too deeper than required as co-lateral damage.
i observed in many cases, if husband is LL5 spouse is LL6 , if Husband is LL6 Spouse is GSR. Foreign graduates are missing leadership qualities and showing the impact of their baggage from foreign countries. I love Ford at the same time heart is crying for fellow employees.
I had a good laugh at that one. You might as well spend more time on the daily Wordle or NY Times crossword than fill the Employee Profile. It is purely a management entertainment device and does not do a thing, except check the box it is done for 90% of employees. I did mine diligently for years. Set and met goals on it and got many additional technical skills - until I realized I am just not the right 'visual' for the promotion machine.
No, They look at your age. Cut. Pension eligible. Cut cut. How much do you cost in health care. Cut. Then look at an organization chart. How many employees in each group at LL level. Who has no employees. Cut LL. Look at LL who has many employees. Cut GSR. THEN THE ORG CHART GOES ON THE WALL AND OUT COMES THE DARTS FOR A DART GAME.
Yeah there has been some obfuscation games going on with CDS.
You can still derive the cut levels though. Coworker created bulk mailing list with all salaried early 2022. He can see and count #s of people no longer @ Ford by composing but not sending email. Also you can do native CDS extracts and pull the active employee flag and type of employee flag and ingest that into your own database to mine for the 411.
HR or whatever they are called today don't have a clue. The whole company is in lock down right now. They are still trying to dig out of the last 2 reorgs and then they add Ford Blue and Model E. Its been 13 months working in a new department and I was told that all updates to CDS were put on hold so I still show up in my old department.
LL6 and LL5 have been tight lipped on what is coming up. They have not asked who is staying past this year. Then again, both of my LL5s have over 30 yrs and if they don't see a rosy future for themselves I bet the will also be jumping ship.
Like Jim the LL4 says.....Hey Bob, we are going to let all your core GSRs go and we will need some extra effort by your team to still deliver. Sound like a plan... right??? Bob says see ya later ....
I think the Voluntary Package will be announced this week and there will be some highly suggestive wording to take the deal. Will it be financial or years of service incentive or both. The only way you are going to get 3-4K to take the package is to give the 28-29 yrs folks some years. There are just not enough of the 30+ year folks to make a difference.
The numbers make it easy.. maybe 10-12K employees in the GRP , the other 20K were hired after Jan 2004 so the are not effected by a 30 yr milestone ..
Can't say what goes into firing decisions, but I can say with supreme confidence that your yearly salary raise wrongly depends, at least in part, on your contribution to the United Fund.
They are not that skilled !!!
Two consultants, Bob & Bob, select who gets cut. They keep Peter, since he is a straight-shooter with upper management written all over him.
As a former GM employee affected by layoffs in 2019, the HR delivers the message but dont use your Appraisal system to determine who gets cut. Not even sure if HR is involved at all? In GM's case, outside consultants company [Bain or McKinsey one of them] run the data and pick to prevent age discrimination lawsuits
Eg: our group lost arguably top 3 best/reliable technicians of our group. Granted one of guys has since been rehired by GM.
Many groups lost the managers; highly doubt managers chose themselves to get cut
Pretty sure it's 75% a numbers game. If cost cutting is the stated goal, then expensive employees take the focus.
It's times like this I'm thankful I don't take health insurance from Ford. We use my spouse's coverage. But this always ensures I'm a lower cost resource than anyone who does take healthcare. 🤷
No. A close friend of mine got cut and was told it was because he couldn’t code in Java or Python. He coded professionally in those languages pre-Ford and in fact had trained his co-workers in those languages and actually regularly coded in those languages at Ford. It was all in his CV, LDEP, etc. It was clearly a lets get rid of the old guy play.
@bch - agreed. I was telling my father-in-law, retired from the auto industry 20+ years now, a couple years back essentially the same thing. My take then was that in 5-10 years Ford would be an Indian company owned by Americans.
Lol. No. You would have to have an ounce of intelligence, or concern for the success of the company. Ford's goal is to move all white collar jobs overseas. They are banking on Americans to keep buying their low quality foreign made products while slapping their American company badge on it. People really need to stop buying Ford vehicles because all you are doing is supporting Mexican, Chinese, and Indian white collar labor while they throw a few vehicles into US assembly plants which isn't really that many jobs. They are pulling a huge scam.
I think it's more important what you do right now.
I also think - particularly with Ford in mind - your age, gender, retirement eligibility etc.
No.
They review them in conjunction with their outside counsel.
