Everyone is saying it

- 'How About No'
God, I hope so.
The target headcount is 65K. Layoffs will continue until then. Oh by the way, there will no Intel Labs either in 2026. This also means no more investment to the future of Intel through research. Let's see how that strategy plays out.
Q4 might be the start of badge flipping due to outsourcing, but the vast majority of notifications for these layoffs is completed.
The real shocker will be when LBT announces the sale of one or more fab sites. My guess is F28 or NM. That'll put a dent in the total headcount.
The company needs to shed assets to get headcount even close to where it needs to be, which everybody is saying is something close to 75,000.
Intel is still in the state of delusion that they will make a marketable 14A chip.
Nothing can stop Intel ki-ling more of its family memebers
110k-40k = Yes they will layoff more folks until they reach 70k worldwide !
@bc you keep on saying the company has said no more layoffs in 2026. Please show the email or circuit article. I can’t find it.
“ The company has stated that they expect no more company wide action at least through 2026, but that doesn't mean restructuring is done. It just won't be company-wide.”
There will be performance layoffs, possibly every quarter until the company decides they have improved the productivity and quality of the line workers.
Outsourcing for sure and some fabs and sites may be sold, and those changes will amount to more than any individual terminations.
Fact is, this layoff struggled to get to 10k or 15k, and it certainly did not get to 20k.
The company will simply have to shed assets and fundamentally change how work gets done to get total headcount any lower.
The company has stated that they expect no more company wide action at least through 2026, but that doesn't mean restructuring is done. It just won't be company-wide.
I heard that "it is likely", that after this layoff round, they will reorg, then analyse redundant roles and layoff those roles in Q4.
Maybe Intel will just keep WiFi chip department.
Where is the next great Intel product coming apparently 18A isn’t cutting it and Intel is now looking towards 14A to save them. If Intel can’t find customers to fill the fabs with wafers it makes the wafers very expensive. Intel has TSMC producing 35 % of its product line as it’s cheaper trying to keep competitive with Nvidia/AMD/Arm. The Intel turn around is a few years away, so it’s either sell off parts of the company or mothball Fabs and sack employees.
My proprietary layoff estimator says there is an 87.7% chance Intel lays off at least another 7500 by end of year.
They will try to spin it as performance issue so that they don’t have to give severance package.
@a3 please show us explicitly where the company has told anyone that all layoffs for 2026 are done? You can’t!
Only the delulu trolls on this site are anxiously awaiting any further terminations by the company.
Short answer is NO. At least you need to wait 14A
Last sentence of the Oregonian article about the unemployment rate says Intel told local officials there is more to come.
Those ape like creatures from the Indy’s are next.
It wont be a layoffs. They will use failure to comply with company policies (e.g. netflix at work, not returning to office enough) to fire people for cause (no severance)
Always in motion is the future
The company has told the market that it is essentially done and no major restructuring expected through 2026.
Everyone may not be saying this, but what do they know?
Expect outsourcing and assets sales, but those will not be company wide. The company of course could do something different as needed.
@OP I would guess everyone is saying it because of the state of the company, and it seems the most likely next step.
Yes, H1B visa holders, only! Haven’t you seen the memorandum?
