Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Marketing to be outsourced?

I took the package last year and have lost touch with much of my network - I'm not trying to start a rumor, but an I've heard bits and pieces from multiple sources indicating that SMG is planning to outsource most Marketing responsibilities (possibly to Accenture?), and the in-house Marketing teams will be decimated. Anyone know if this is accurate?

Accenture su-ks... Maybe cheaper than in house though... Great products sell themselves. AS we don't have any of those (outside of wholly TSMC produced Lunar lake save the packaging). We need some mind control marketing to stay afloat. Every dollar spent that makes revenue is critical until we have a product that sells itself... Sure hope we have a winner in the oven somewhere.

SMG is the biggest spending department at Intel with nothing to show for it. Decades of lack luster sales, marketing strategies have been awful and clearly bases on sales the proof is in the pudding. Bug question will they take another massive cruise again lol

@by CS wasn't the CMO. He was the leader of all of SMG and hired a "CMO" on his staff.

That being said, CS was literally the worst hire in Intel's history and stole nearly $100M from this place and f'd over thousands of employees on his way out.

One more reason to never give a CMO a hiring bonus till they achieve targets. CS BSd his way in and left with a multi million dollar package only to now see it outsourced. What does that tell you

When one of the new CMOs came on board, they cut ties with many of the outsourced vendors to centralize and save money and brought everything in-house. Now they want to get rid of the in-house people and go back to vendors.

Is this the marketing equivalent of picking through the carcass?

Some kept on board (execs) to spend their time high flying but ultimately turn over the budget to truly Agentify a practice of program managers having already turned over the work for 3decades to mktg agencies anyway?

Now it just one general contractor with one bill.

Beware that this is anything other than a VP last effort…coukd improve their own org…so now they scuttle it and turn it over keys, budget and soul

Good, Intel marketing has been dogshit forever. They literally have no creativity and have relied on “well we’re Intel” forever

Aligned with everything I heard yesterday. Marketing within SMG to get cut in the 80-90% range with the majority of the work farmed out to Accenture.
