Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

No layoffs for a while

After the latest round, can we hope to be layoff-less for a while, or is that just too much to ask?

@g0 So true. Such a shame that PBNA marketing, which was such a shining beacon across the industry at one time has crumbled to this. A swift clean up of the house is needed. Bring in creative, strategic, EFFECTIVE leadership and ged rid of the a-s kissers.

@cx Also feel like they need to do a big purge of PBNA. Ram Krishnan has done nothing but tank this business. Likely explains why so many leaders have left. And PBNA marketing is such a joke ….so bloated with egos but not cohesive strategy. The portfolio is a dog’s breakfast. Nobody should be surprised Pepsi has dropped to #4 spot. Mark, Lauren, JP ….what are you doing to this business? They need to clean up house in marketing asap.

Elliott is going to clean house. PEP needs a good cleaning out and management that actually knows what they are doing. There is so much expensive useless deadweight everywhere in PEP, especially in Plano.

@cy I find that hard to believe. With the leadership and board visit coming up In Hyderabad, you can expect to see LinkedIn posts featuring them being welcomed on red carpet, even dancing or participating in celebrations, and praising offshore centre’s accomplishments

@ba yup any time activists talk about margins (both beverage and Frito lay), that for sure will be layoffs. Management usually tries to get ahead of it by offering a few cuts, then forced to do more

With the activist investors getting involved with PEP there are going to be major layoffs and restructuring, which there needs to be. Look at all the people Elliott Management canned at Southwest Airlines.

The leaders and BoD are merry making with offshoring to Hyderabad and Mexico. Why wouldn’t there be layoffs in N. America??
