Was LR'd and came back as a contractor. Was asked to convert back to blue. After I was LR'd, I weaned myself off of the blood pressure and anxiety meds, started eating and sleeping better, got along better with my family, and just felt much better. I was out for a few years, then came back as a contractor. Pay was very good. As a contractor, I slowly morphed back to my original Cisco-self; putting weight back on, blood pressure going back up, anxiety kicking back in. The money was good, I was doing a good job; and was asked to come back. They were going to pay 35% more than what I was originally making when first blue. My spouse said I was literally just like my old Cisco-self, and pleaded with me to go get a complete physical before going back as regular employee. Well, my bloodwork, weight, and blood pressure were all back to original badged Cisco levels. We decided as a team, as I am much older now, that it just wasn't worth it to go back. Is it Cisco's issue? No, it is mine. Once I decided not to come back, and to move on to something completely different, my health once again got much better. Not sure what it is about Cisco, it is just the sitting all day, not sleeping well, eating while on calls, and working weird hours that did me in. Oh yeah, too much coffee. If you can manage it, fantastic. If the above health conditions sound familiar, please go to the doctor. Cisco is good, but not worth an early grave.

Only a loser with no potential would come back to a dumpster like Cisco. If you were LRd we didnt want you and should never be rehired. If you left volunterily then you left to get a better job so why would you go back in life ? Only reason would be like @ba said, you went out and saw whats it really like to do actual work, held accountable, saw people who actually worked and FAILED. You realized Cisco was the only place that you can survive because there are thousands of people like you here and its easy to hide amongst them. But hey, maybe you just d-mb and need a paycheck and where else but Cisco for that

I've bommeranged twice, once after taking the ER package in 2011 and another time after being LR'd in 2019. Got a pay raise with each return. Next time I leave the company will be my last & I look forward to it; I've done my time and have had my fill.

I have been coming to Cisco for 4 times now. Each time they put me on the road, I just keep coming back. Hopefully, I can survive the next chop for the next 2 years. I love it at Cisco, easy job, lots of politics (my favorite pastime) and best WFH hands down.

Companies with savvy HR that actually understands tech staffing usually end up with a "no boomerangs" policy (i.e. you can only work for the company once).

These become brain damaged at Cisco, go out in to the real world, FAIL, and then return to their comfy hammock to collect a check. Just look at the head of SBG, he's a boomerang and is living proof of everything I am saying.

You don't go shopping in the recycle bin.

Don’t go back if you’re 50+. Will be on next LR pool soon.

I also boomeranged and the second round was amazing. Ended in an LR that was on my terms this time! I’m debating on going back… I’m a Cisco addict.
