Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Oregon layoff numbers

I left Intel last year but see the layoff news around that may impact my friends here in Oregon. Do we know the impact in Oregon and approximately how many folks will be let go here?

Is there a way to short sell homes in Portland? Prices going to drop 30% maybe more in 1 year my prediction. Take out 30% Intel employees, no other employers, and place is going to implode.

Pretty accurate that it will be about 25-30% cut in Oregon by starting now and finishing July. High cost geos will also have bigger proportion.
Some additional BB to GB flips so actually BB might be lower and bigger HC cut.

You'll know when you see your friends homeless on the sidewalk living on a tent.

It has to be in the thousands... that place has 20K+ BB and GB, I would assume 3000 minimum, and up to 5000 cut. That place needs to learn how to be customer centric and less dogmatic.
