More layoffs are coming, January was just the beginning with all those contractors. Kai will be making deeper cost cuts well ahead of out bonus payouts. No way Kate can keep pushing her Dare To Lead mantra when 80% reduction in work staff is happening.
Stop hating on L3, it was both L3 and CTL cr-p execs that messed up the company. And whoever on the SLT of both L3 and CTL that followed suit in creating Lumen to get away from what L3 created. L3 bought CTL who was going down the cr-pper. L3 had the money to save CTL and did just that. Yes it was very stupid for L3/CTL to switch from telecom. They could have improved on their network, taken the current products of Lumen and just added them to the portfolio of CTL, growing their base. But wasting $2 billion on a revamp and rebirth of a new company was stupid and a waste of money.

L3 ruined this company on purpose is the only thing that makes sense. Look at the change in the last 8 years.

Having agility to be in the 1st-to-market is how companies get rich on what we know are just fads of the time. Datacenters were hot at the time, then came Cloud, and now Ai. All just fads. So what's after Ai fad? Quantum compute is next, and there's only a few companies in that space.
Lumen as always been a follower, and now they are chasing Ai. You see it now?
Lumens ELT pushing this AI stuff and thumping chest as an industry leader in the area is all that you need to know about the genuity of the team. Just BS over speaking to get stock higher, market finally caught on the BS. Internally we all know the ship is slowly sinking when management just throws darts on the wall on what will work and practice for tik tok career once they get golden parachutes with the quarterly skits
It’s clear that Cloud and data centers are not money makers. They have threw everything at the wall just for it to fail. No real solutions, just pretending to reinvent the wheel with a technology degree. I also agree this will be another dot com failure but for the most part Lumen is the only one pursuing it so only we will fall. The failure to maintain what we originally were, a telecom with some exchanges and huge amount of enterprise customers was enough to be profitable. L3 ruined this company on purpose is the only thing that makes sense. Look at the change in the last 8 years.
