CA layoff numbers update

Bay area: 736

FM: 344

Looks like CA sites are taking more their fair share.

@kp Who knew Ann was a hoarder?

She must have caught the Sohail disease, an infection which causes the victim to empire build to oblivion.

Half of the blame for cost bloat goes to Ann

The combined Cali campuses look as light as everywhere not called Ronler Acres.

Pretty obvious what LBT meant when he complained about the bloated workforce.

Looks like he had to push out Ann to get the needed changes in TD and the RA fabs.

Big changes are coming to all groups but this layoff wasn't it. Aside from RA, this was just low performers and things like outsourcing marketing.

The few relatively small groups that did have large reductions are being set up for outsourcing, but that is going to spread to many more groups over the next few years. These were just the smaller, easier groups to outsource.

So very impactful if a person were in NEX, Automotive, Marketing and some other groups, but this was more like a hedge trimmer than chainsaw.

@c0 Sad to see so much bitterness & hatred. I wish you peace and hope you find a way to let go of all that negativity.

@bs California is such a cesspool that everytime I drive from AZ to OR, WA or Canada I drive all the way around it just so I don't have to see the filth California has become.

Yeah our employees in Oregon are much smarter. Too bad you’all gonna be laid off and you next career in Oregon is the service industry at $20/hr.
In cali I’m gonna go surfin first and then get my pick of high paying job

CA is just full of inflated salaries and no actual useful output or engineering. Shut it down

@b8 I think it’s mainly that layoff notifications are going out at different times for different groups. Overall there’s no transparency for these recent layoffs. Employees don’t know when this round is over, if future rounds are planned, or what the severance package is if they are laid off. It’s disgraceful and unnecessarily cruel.

The offspring or Fairchild. Remember them?

@b5 what is going on with OR? Is there another round coming up on the 15th? Intel has lied about layoffs being done for the time being in the past, but we always assumed the next round were at least 6-12 months away, not a week off. I retired in September. Glad I did because this would be so stressful! Feel bad for all the hardworking people I worked with across multiple intel sites.
