@bd they’ll probabaly restructure even more than they have. Maybe not lay off people but change around commodities and teams

I’m really confused. Just a few months ago, they restructured the teams and added managers to each team, presumably to oversee the AB’sNow, they’ve eliminated all of the AB positions those managers were supposed to lead. My team is down to just two people, yet they’re still paying a six-figure salary to a manager overseeing only the two of us. It doesn’t make any sense.

@b5 I can’t imagine how an ai could possibly do any AB’s job. Especially someone on the produce desk. This sh-t is straight up evil.

Do we think the UFCW would allow office workers into their union? I know one of our stores in NY tried to unionize with them earlier this year.

@ab which is insanity considering how volatile produce is and was already understaffed. AB roles as a whole are incredibly complex and valuable. They're making a huge misstep.

I heard that some years ago the ABs did a three day walkout. We should bring that back

@ac I was told they cut someone who has been with the company longer than me but was promoted in the last year, so they based tenure off their promotion date.

@af if this first round of outsourcing is “successful,” they will absolutely keep going. I don’t think any of us are safe.

@aa so even if an AB was hired in the last 2.5 years but is so good is still gone?

Half of Produce was cut

Everyone on my team hired in the last 2.5 years is being laid off before the end of this year. That will leave only 4 ABs on a team of 19.

@a4 the people who got fired effective immediately were told in 1 on 1 meetings with their director this morning. The people who will be let go later this year appear to be finding out in groups.

@a3 I believe most if not all of the people impacted know at this point. We were broken up into smaller groups in the last hour and told whether or not our team was staying.

Were they told individually first or was it during a team/GBD meeting?

Do those being let go In October already know?

Layoffs for ABs are based on tenure and team size. The 3 most recent hires on my team of 6 were just let go with October effective dates.
