Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

The PepsiCo hunger games 2025

Happy Memorial Day to those of us left as we wander into another silly season of bad decisions by senior leadership! Sales are down at an almost historic low or at least lows we haven't seen in a decade as our Indian led sinking ship takes on water at a faster pace with each failing financial report! Maybe just maybe we might want to try Americans marketing to Americans? Athina and her merry band of do nothings have zero to show for what they do! And of course the first thing to be cut is travel which means we stop training our teams, hard to cut costs when you stop investing in your teams! Virtual just doesn't cut with these venues but we will give it the old college try again this year because hey the interns run this place! Good luck this year as I am sure layoffs are being planned as we speak as the underperforming leadership team that got here by nepotism and DEI does nothing to stop the bleeding other than hold town halls wearing Buffalo heads and talk about going into the storm! Unfortunately going into the storm here used to mean voice your opinion fearlessly but we all know those days are over. Now its just a poison polluted atmosphere of people who quiet quit months or years ago! We get to do three peoples job with little to no bonus and 1.5% raise all the while having our jobs threatened to be off shored!! The OHS should be interesting this year as middle managers get.gas lighted from upper bad decisions!!

@b1 Her only workload is having scores of people make a podcast for her that gets less than a hundred listens per episode. Absolute insanity.

@b4 No need to "believe". I'm in S&T and she cut it to zero for our team, mind you a global one at Purchase. ZERO.

This jury member is still deliberating on Ram's performance. Our decline in beverage share and sales predate him by more than a decade. Just look at the shitstorm his predecessor created a month into his new gig at Wendy's and you can see why I'm willing to give him until EOY before I join the mob.

As for marketing, NA Beverages has been running the same play for 15 years, losing equity every year by spending far less on share of voice for Dew and Pepsi than Dr Pepper or Sprite, and has lagged far behind the competition in marketing ROI. The lack of spend was intentional. Remember when Indra told the world we were shifting away from CSD's? We've been milking those cows ever since, without ever bothering to feed them.

@b1 - I don’t believe Athina is actually cutting travel budgets. From what I’ve seen, Santosh’s organization continues to travel frequently—even just to meet vendors. For example, Radha is currently in Mexico, combining the trip with a personal visit to NYC, and is returning again for training. Why not consolidate that into a single trip? It feels like there’s no cap on travel spend for teams in India, while U.S. teams face strict limits. Someone needs to review the travel and entertainment expenses for Santosh’s org—it’s excessive. Are we truly saving by outsourcing jobs to India when you factor in additional costs like travel, food, and team events that aren’t reflected in base salaries? It’s worth a closer look.

She's cutting everyone's travel budget while she and her pet executives travel around the world. Same old sh-t. drag hundreds of people into useless meeting, waste everyone's time with slides nobody will remember, then fly off to the next stop.
