Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How does exxon expect to motivate us with no raise and decreased insurance benefits?

I am one of the many that did not get a raise this past year. I also got dropped in ranking for some lame reason. The new medical, dental and vision insurance su-ks as well. My supervisor has tried to force me to work harder this year. I told them why in the he-l would I try any harder with no hope for a raise or improvements. The super tried to scare me with a lower ranking or expectations for my CL. They have no leverage on me anymore as I am retirement ready and wealthy enough to leave. Many of my other workers are experiencing the same treatment. The threats only work on the young ones not on the old ones who know the game.

If you are not keeping up with inflation and you are in bottom 2 quintiles (bottom 40%), they want you to quit voluntarily. with bottom 10% leaving or pip'd, you will be in bottom 20% in 2 years. Start looking

The only ones feeling good about this are the consultants who raise their rates to EM every time. Changing the basis for a comparable job- no, a warehouse manager at Amazon is not the same as CL2# job here

And they try to motivate us by telling us on our earnings and the part we played in achieving it * roll eye*

What really gets me is the d-mb a-s supervisor saying with a straight face that I am expected to do more this year. Saying that money isn't everything and I should get satisfaction from the work. That I should be proud to work for a large corporation and derive satisfaction for this as well. Where do they find these mindless chimps, robots that spew this trash. Their jedi mind tricks will not work on me. It is like they want me to thank them for the privilege of working for this dysfunctional s hole with no increase in pay.

You need to leave, show them

Actually, they don’t care, they want you gone. You will be replaced by someone at a fraction of what you make

Sit back, do nothing

You keeping your job (for now) is the motivation that you deserve.

Dude, it doesn't give a fu-k if you're motivated or not. You're being replaced by Suresh in BTC. Remember EXXONMOBIL AIN'T AN AMERICAN COMPANY ANYMORE. So retire and avoid this sh-tshow.

The company is very clear that they are outsourcing most of our jobs to India. They do not care if anyone quits. If you are retirement eligible they want you gone.

There is no future here!

Why should you? Because if you don't, others will and you'll fall into nsi and ultimately pip.

For the majority of folks with many years to go this fact is true.

Your situation is unique because you claim to be nre, so maybe this doesn't apply to you. From your post I doubt more moeny would motivate you to work harder anyways as you're already wealthy. I imagine the company would prefer you to leave anyways so their compensation program is structured as such.
