They could definitely improve morale if they laid off Beatty and his team of A-s Lickers. Guy is such a phony in my opinion

@az from the list I saw (granted I am not pretending I saw a full, complete list) -4. Between the location saying "tele" or having an unfamiliar (to me) location.
I wonder how many where remote :(

@ag woah, your org actually acknowledged the layoffs? That gives me a little hope bc silence has been the only response to everything lately including layoffs, morale, favoritism, you name it.
@a7 was it? I know of the RiFs happening quarterly since 2023. Not sure I knew it was ~300 quarterly. But today was, to me, different. Including a note to my org, which has not happened since the 2023 layoffs.

Hopefully the economy turns around before my COBRA expires! Or I get deported to a country with better health care

This was a quarterly. Normally those are around 300 souls. If only 50 it may mean a very large or very small year end. I believe that it will be similar to October’s.

Heard from my director and manager that 50 were let go today.
Historically layoffs have been end of Oct or first week Nov. I have not heard anything yet , just wondering if we will see a larger lay off in another month or so. And for all those that were laid off today, the very best of luck to you.
Yes, over 50 employees were laid off today across multiple organizations.
Seems smallish, 50 maybe? Saw from MD on down, as far as roles. Multiple orgs. Didn’t hear anything beforehand that was more than the usual chatter, so was completely unexpected to me.
Is this the end of it? The start of new regularity?
Not a Reduction in Force, which has been happening since after Oct 2023.
