Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford envisions an automotive ecosystem in which EVs are valued and passionately pursued in the marketplace.

Ford will help them realize their potential, similar to watering a plant and exposing it to sunlight for nourishment. Although, it's probably not a good idea to water an EV and expose it to direct sunlight.

OP you are dreaming of what can be unburdened by what has been.

If EVs offered a winning value proposition to the consumer, it wouldn’t be costing Ford $5B a year to keep the program going. There would be people lined up around the block to get them. As it is, they are more expensive and less convenient than ICE vehicles. They are a luxury for those with money to burn and nothing important to do (with very few exceptions were the use case fits).

Ford’s dream scenario was that EVs would be mandated by the government and that the ever-expanding socialist bureaucracy would print more money and force consumers to purchase them. That dream died with Kamala’s campaign.

Now they are setting up an office in DC to try to get in Trump’s good graces. All they would have to do is take some bold action and install some actual leadership over the company. It won’t happen with our current team.

I won’t be holding my breath. I predict that instead they will take superficial action to appear to be aligning with the new Administration, continue to pretend to be a software company that makes cars and continue to decline. I hope they prove me wrong.
