Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

What are your thoughts?

Curious to hear others’ thoughts. Here’s what I’ve personally observed and feel needs to be said:

1. Lack of Transparency and Consistency Across Teams

Leadership often isn’t transparent, and policies seem to shift depending on who you report to. For example, Santosh’s team seems to travel freely whenever they want, while in Dave’s organization, only one part of the team is allowed to travel, and others are blocked, even for legitimate operational needs ( conference , team meetings are not operational). If we’re tightening budgets, let’s apply rules consistently—not selectively.

2. Millions Spent on Consultants for Work We Already Do

I’ve seen us bring in consulting firms just to repackage work that internal teams have already done. They polish it and present it to leadership, but the heavy lifting is still on us. It feels frustrating and demoralizing—especially when we’re being asked to cut costs, yet millions are still spent on outside firms for tasks we’re fully capable of handling.

3. Bias and Inequity in Recognition and Visibility

There’s often more recognition for how someone presents than the actual work behind the scenes. I once worked with a Caucasian boss and a Caucasian coworker, and I noticed all the visibility and credit went to them, even though I was doing most of the work. Yes, that person presented better, but that shouldn’t overshadow the contributions of others. I’ve experienced this repeatedly, and it leaves you feeling invisible and undervalued. Leadership should be consistent and free from favoritism. Dave needs to look at this org irrespective of color /race.

And honestly, the bias isn’t just against one race—I’ve seen hatred directed at Indians, but other races are not immune from receiving or showing bias either. It’s time we build a culture of fairness and mutual respect, regardless of background.

@ay since we have failed leaders who don’t know how or don’t have will to fix problems - more layoffs will follow! Simple truth!

I thought this site was for layoffs, not to discuss what needs to be fixed with the company.

Wait…wait. I see what you’re doing here. It’s not the Caucasian getting credit anymore. It’s not the African-Americans, Mex-American, or Asian-American getting any credit anymore. It all about the people from Indians (Employees, H1Bs, Suppliers, etc.) taking all the credit and removing all others!

It’s a straight up Corporate takeover from India. The USA needs to dissolve the H1B program from India. Save America from Corporate Greed and India. Tariff that progam!
