Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

What is with directors and vps nowadays all being in their late 20s and early 30s. Thought it took a while to get promoted to that level.

They look younger because they spend most of their workday at the gym or walking around Fidelity.

That isn’t true….

Go through workforce and you will see that probably less than 5% is in their early 30s. Almost next to none in their 20s for L7 SL/CL.

They might look younger because they take care of themselves a lot more than their peers. That’s just it.

@as for real, folks spend all day out here bi--hing and expect VP to fall into their lap. Solve a problem and maybe people will care, clock out at 5 and be mediocre but dont expect greatness. It's your choice

You all should look inward and wonder why not you? Do you spend your time bi--hing and moaning or working to be better every day?

Fidelity Director/VP Checklist:

1.) Knows how to speak in non-threatening corporate language.
2.) Mirrors whoever is above them almost perfectly.
3.) Never introduces friction upwards.
4.) Understands optics better than substance.
5.) Is confident without having been tested in anything that actually matters.

It’s not a leadership pipeline. It’s a casting call. Same haircut, same suitcoat, same buzzwords. Plug and play.
