Apparently Jack Cooper inc has had prior finance problems past years and possible mismanagement that caught up with them along with Yellow Fright and Sprint , another one on that pile.
Overheard in the negotiations:
"Our UAW labor costs just went up 50%. We need to cut the amount that we pay you to transport our vehicles."
Congrats UAW, you just put thousands of your Teamster brethren out of a job!

Ford was probably trying to negotiate an unattainable price for transportation. At some point, a supplier can't be squeezed any more.

Assume they tried to renegotiate costs and Jack Cooper was unwilling to concede… who cares how are vehicles are transported to dealers?
This is why I'll buy Toyota, Honda, Kia, or whatever else I wanna buy. Ford doesn't care about Americans, Americans should stop caring about Ford.
