"Do you really believe this company, with the convoluted business model we have today, is the only place you can be successful at work?"

No but any alternative is better than being bought by Broadcom. If North Korea was not buying VMware then people might not be praying the regulators intervene as much.

Very sad to learn that there are people still placing hopes of their own destiny on regulatory agencies' decisions. Wake up and focus on preparing to be successful in your next career step, either within BC or outside. Do you really believe this company, with the convoluted business model we have today, is the only place you can be successful at work?

FTC is gearing up for big battles which will use up a lot of their resources. Not sure they wanna add more to their plate but what do I know?

I guess it would be
FTC - No
UK - No
EU - Yes
China (SAME) - No

Lina Khan and her insiders at FTC are going to let this one slide imho. Take an actual look at their track record; they go after stuff that has a B2C element. That's the stuff that generates headlines. Microsoft, Illumina, Facebook... it was all B2C. Otherwise a case would have been open after the initial Hart Scott Rodino review.

Most end consumers don't know who VMware is much less Broadcom.

Yes. Per an earlier thread, if the UK tries to hold this up, they'll be relegated to a bat cave, however there's a certain gentle person there I chose NOT to offend a second time.

The FTC chief Lina Khan is pretty radical when it comes to M&A and you can bet she is going to sue Broadcom to stop the deal. This case will go to the courts and it will languish there for another 6 months to a year, until a decision - or Broadcom gets fed up and simply backs out.

It does not matter what approvals the EU or UK give, it's ultimately the FTC who will decide this merger and Broadcom being a US company and the US being the most important market it determines virtually everything.

And just like the Microsoft/Activision merger, the EU gave the
green light to that one too; before the UK spoiled it.

And it was just announced that the FTC is now suing MS to block that deal, so nothing is guaranteed either way, Mind you, the FTC does not have a goo track record of winning their cases lately, so who knows, but may mean a delay of they do take it court.

FTC hasn’t weighed in yet, they are taking their sweet time…

The UK are a minor player, they have no real power anymore. If the CMA are the only one to block it the deal will go ahead regardless.

BC and VMW will pull out of UK market and just sell via intermediaries.

Great, but the UK is the spoiler. They were last time, after all.

Vmw share price up 3%. Broadcom up 4%.

The market believes this story.

Don't give AF anymore. My manager is insufferable and the sales teams are unbearable to work with. Go ahead and let me go. 🤷
