Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Layoffs for the remainder of 2025

Can anyone confirm the timings for remaining layoffs this year? Heard first week of November with massive target of WFH.

Disgusting how this company values location and DEI numbers over retaining SMEs and high performing, loyal long time employees,

@et if you get to layoff yes but keep in mind they are doing everything they can to avoid that and going as far as falsifying ratings to give the appearance staff didnt meet goals so they get terminated instead no with no package

The rumor is that there will be no layoffs - other than the ones they REALLY want to get rid of. Bad actors, oldies, RTO abusers. Also was warned that the managers do not have the ability to "correct" RTO misses retroactively - that right has been removed. So there may be a lot more RTO firings masquerading as LO

@qg I was there 30 years and got nothing. I agree karma is a force. We all get what we give. Just so happy to be out of that cesspool. RV is an evil man. TO THE CORE.

@et I was WFH and was laid off in May. Here 12 yrs, received severance through January (it's a lump sum, but just laying out now much it was). I've seen a lot but getting anything at all, which is quite possibly the lowest thing you can do to an employee. RV should be ashamed of himself. Karma will get him though.

@et nope. And it's considered a voluntary resignation so you can't collect unemployment either..a giant f$c@ you on the way out.. unless you have a boss that is caring enough to finagle you into a round of lay offs

@et Possibly, but by no means a guaranteed thing. Depends on a number of factors. But I do know at least some here domestically are getting some level of severance. But sadly, not everyone.

@ar credit services needs to go too along with PW. Both terribly overpaid groups. Everyone needs to remember that they will try to cut before merit goes out and they can still be responsible to pay for that of you turn them in to your local EEOC agencies. We have to stop letting them get away with the bs

They dont care about retaining talent or tenure. They care about offshoring so RV can stay at his $23MM yearly salary. Now that’s disgusting. We stress over bills and keeping our jobs and he sits lovely fu--ing the Americans over to stay rich

The holidays are coming up, so be of good cheer and ready for cuts before the end of the year! Ho Ho Ho

I’ll never dance on anyone’s grave, but if they have to trim further and the target is “based from home” personnel, there’s a large degree of BD Service associates that are utterly useless and more deserving of the cuts than all the good folks we’ve lost these last 2 1/2 years.
