Thread regarding Ford layoffs

There is already a list for those getting the ax and it came out before the tariff incident, it was in place by the

1st of March 2025. I already had a com tell me that if my performance was not better that with my years in the company I could be looking at termination. Com is not my immediate supervisor and I am a GSR. Never had bad reviews in all my years till this new performance rating system. But I have a lot of years in and over 50.

In my org at least

The H1Bs get there marching orders get their marching orders from other higher up H1Bs that report up to H1Bs.

And the rest of us all get sc--wed with having to deal with all of the BS that this place is always had while they get the kudos for managing a project that we all suffer through.

It's old it's tired and it's going to bring this company down

Broligarchs luv H-1Bs. Cheap, compliant, and disposable. If they were permanent-resident green card holders, they would not be disposable and could speak up for themselves. If they have the skills we need, bring them in as whole and permanent Americans.

To avoid lawsuits they will pick from every possible category like age group, gender, citizens (Americans), non-citizens (H1), race etc.,

Only people who will not be on the list are friends and family (even if they are id--ts).

Hey king, I get your frustration about layoffs and H-1B visas—I absolutely agree there’s a real issue with how these visas sometimes get misused, causing locals to unfairly lose their jobs.

But I wanted to share another perspective from my personal experience at Ford. I’m South Asian (born and raised in Michigan, American 🇺🇸), and I’ve actually faced racial discrimination there myself—from an Asian-majority group from another country who held positions of power, alongside their allies of other races.

I have nothing against immigrants—my own parents are immigrants and now proud citizens. Most South Asians born and raised here (Indians, Pakistanis, and others) treat each other with mutual respect. However, there are historical tensions and conflicts between some countries, like India and Pakistan, that unfortunately get carried over by some individuals into workplaces here. Sadly, some people still hold onto these old conflicts and discriminate against those of us born and raised here who have literally no connection to those disputes. It’s wrong, and it’s embarrassing. I’ve done research on this for “reasons”, and a label I’ve extracted for people like us were “mis-hits” in their war.

Meanwhile, other races look at it like non discriminatory friendly fire 😂💀💀💀💀. Frankly, I had to aggressively push back—basically share how ridiculous this experience has been—to drive a necessary change because their discrimination was outrageous. I paid the ultimate price in doing so too.

I’m the reason behind this discretely specific update in Ford’s hiring and diversity policy:

(Previous years) Ford Asian Indian Association (FAIA) →
(2025) Ford Asian Association (FAA)

This change wasn’t "nice," it was a result of me having to fight back against ignorance and discrimination that Ford allowed and only changed because I spoke up. I did so internally they ruined my life LMFAOOO amicably is non existent at ford, don’t blame others blame ford for not making things better. Things only change when they fear others will hear about it. That is the worst thing I’m. To know what it takes to drive change isn’t by intentionally doing the right thing, but being exposed for being who they are. That weakness is a strong indicator of being evil.

Ford has a consistent pattern of discreetly covering up issues or quietly implementing changes after incidents occur. They rarely, if ever, openly acknowledge mistakes or offer a genuine sowwy🤕. They put you through h-e-🏒🏒 if you want that, even if they are wrong— another indicator of an EVIL company. They commit more sins along the way. So if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at ford. Direct it there.

All I’m saying is this: yes, criticize unfair visa practices, but remember it’s corporate policies and ignorance causing the issues—not an entire ethnicity or nationality.

Don’t group me up like the hiring team and HR and Speak Up did! 🗣️

@ah+1jr1pyna1 I mean, the cover story that they tell us is that they bring in foreign workers because they can’t find locals to do the job (eye roll). So, if they are laying people off, makes sense that they would be the first to go.

But it won’t happen that way. The Fords will continue to sell us out for short term profits. How many generations of Fords are su-king off the te-t at this point? Meanwhile, the rest of us - many of whom have generations of family that enabled them to do so - get sold out to Asians for nickels and dimes.

Fords - It won’t last forever. We will put up with a lot, but when the levee breaks…
