The only reasons PEP did DEI in the first place were (1) everybody else was doing it -- like most big companies, PEP is a sheep, and (2) they were convinced it was good PR.
DEI is doomed. Not only does PEP not want to lose federal contracts, but under the current fascist Muskrump regime there could be legal consequences to a continuation of DEI. PEP is nothing if not chickenshit.
If PEP is so committed to DEI, they should stand their ground and defend their DEI principles and stop being a Federal contractor, BUT, I guess this shows money is all that matters to PEP.
Keep wishing to keep the DEI. That’s all you have. It’s not coming back in any form. It’s too expensive to maintain and it’s ruining the companies it’s implemented in.

Based on the comments in this thread, it's plain to see that DEI is more divisive than unifying. There may be some kernel of truth in the pursuit to scrap it.
I have yet to see a single article in the years since it was implemented with someone proudly saying "Heck yeah, I'm a DEI hire." So, if you can't be proud of it why are so many clinging onto it?
