Quit after MBA

I am close to finishing an MBA the company has partially paid for. Su-ks they don’t pay for it all like they used to. Has anyone quit and had to repay the education benefit?

EM will not sue. It would be bad publicity, even if you signed a contract. They are cowards when it comes to image, and it's not enough money to pay the lawyers to do the deed.

Whip out your d1-k and show mgmt it's bigger than theirs.

EM will sue and it accrues interest at a very high interest rate.

If you don't repay what you agreed to, there is a very good chance that you will get sued and lose. You signed a contract, live by the terms.

How can they force you to repay it beyond taking your last paycheck? They can’t touch your pension payout. Pension has the strongest possible federal protections and can never be seized by creditors.

I realized through my MBA program just how messed up the company is. Met some great people who were actually excited about their CAREERS with the companies and industries they work in. Time to leave this dead horse even if I have to pay back the MBA cost it is worth it.

2 year lock in period. You take reimbursement as you go per semester and so it is a rolling 2 year.

@ah I know what the policy says and how to look it up but am trying to figure out if they actually enforce the policy. A lot of conflicting anecdotal information from people who have quit.

How do you not know how to look this information up on the benefits page?

Somebody who quit a couple years ago after an MBA told me they can only recover it from your last paycheck. But somebody else I know who quit within a year of a relocation had to pay the company back for everything. It would be weird to have such a glaring difference and loophole, so I would do your own research.

Anyone know how long you have to stay after MBA to not repay? Might influence of if I take a break from current program and finish after aging as I am waiting for relocation repayment clock to run out.
