Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Wanting to start a business if I get laid off.

I am gathering data. What do people need but to lazy to do won’t do themselves?

Don't do retail, go into wholesale that has a domestic supply chain. Be the business that nobody sees on Instagram, real money doesn't show itself.

If I get laid off, I will make LBT t-shirts and sell them on TEMU. It will be LBT and his buddies from other companies laughing and smoking cigars. LBT looks like he is say something funny. The caption will be "Laser Focus, my kid came up with that."

It's great to see that I won't have to worry about competition on the job market from the latest batches of laid-off Intel employees.

@ag I think you're on to something. An AI controlled po---r scooper drone would make millions.

@af You can literally go down to Qwest and have some blood drawn and feed the lab results into ChatGPT and learn more about you health than any doctor would ever be able to tell you. Sp-t in a tube and feed in your DNA markers for a complete assesment. Now there is a business for OP to start!

@af Nvidia just reached $4T market cap. But you must be right because you are a former Intel engineer who touched some models! The market is wrong not you! Roflmao! No wonder Intel is bankrupt.

@af AI is replacing so many jobs. Just because you "touched" some models doesn't mean sh-t. It's replacing drivers, customer service, software developers, doctors, lawyers and teachers. Life as we know it is about to change bigly. Holy sh-t you are d-mb.

@ab Better than throwing away $20k on a bankrupt business.

@ab bingo, I've been watching these threads and there are so many signs people here are old and out of touch with today's world:

  1. chuck norris jokes
  2. talk about mike rowe as if he's someone who should be admired
  3. think AI is going to be able to replace jobs or replying to answers with copy/paste from chatgpt and take it as the gospel. If your job actually can be replaced by AI, then it wasn't a real job to begin with. If you bought into the AI scams by the executive class, then you deserve to be ruled. I was a former Intel engineer who switched careers to become a machine learning engineer and have touched many sota models and "AI" as it is today is nothing more than a d-mb inference engine.

With that attitude, you're unlikely to have loyal customers no matter what you do because you don't respect them. People outsource tasks because they are trading money for time needed and experience.

I bet you don't grow your own meat or veggies and instead buy from the grocery store. And you don't create your own gasoline or manufacture your own vehicle. Does that mean you're lazy?

@a5 Mike Rowe is an actor who never had a real blue collar job in his life. Let's not put him on a pedestal.
@a8 That advice is worthless for anyone who isn't already rich. You need about a million dollars to afford to live off investments without a job.

Starting a business was a good idea in 1982, not today. Just hold securities and generate your needed income from them.

A very wise man named Mike Rowe once said the key to being successful is to find something necessary that nobody wants to do, then get really good at it.
