That explains the 40% pop in stock price. Did he add any value? Was he really instrumental in the Inmarsat integration. Two years, 20 million in stock and I’m sure a nice severance

Seems like Guru had been checked out since April 2024. That’s when the selfies and media appearances stopped and his presence on earnings calls was all but reading a few prepared lines. There were likely strong disagreements between him and MD or Guru was just in over his head. Would be interesting to know the real story.
Seems like he didn't do that great of a job with the merge. I've seen blokes on here complaining about it pretty harshly. Maybe they're the minority? Or maybe that's one reason he's leaving.
What he did was the hatchet work that MD couldn't or wouldn't do himself. Hire a hatchet guy, do the hatchet, fire the hatchet guy. Not a plea for Guru, just a transparent view of the situation and further adds to the ineffectual view of MD
To this day, im not actually sure what Guru actually did, if anything. He flew around and shook hands and kept telling us how great things were when they weren't. Oh yea and the selfies lol
Have mercy and spin it off.
Okay.
Finally sacked GooRoo, now when is the sell-off of part or all of the Gov business?
Only $250K, that's pretty light for the executive league. Sounds like he's on the receiving side of his own policies now.
@nq+1jj72ck3e We already know the details of his severance. He will continue as an “advisor” and receive his $1 million a year salary until or through April. Then a $250k severance check on top of it.
Im sure he is already in Bali “advising” Viasat on a weekly call thanking everyone on how much was achieved together in his 2 years. So much value added!
We'll get to see his severance eventually. It will be disgusting I'm sure. For all the people who put in 15 or 20 years and made a measurable difference...maybe you'll get lucky and get 70 or 80K in a severance check. Good thing we don't just do it for the money or it would be depressing.
Does anyone know what happened?? Spill the tea!
Look, the +/- rankings aren't getting flooded out anymore to end up as neutral zeros. Don't let the door hit you on the way out G!
Guru no doubt got a very nice payoff.
Sadly, more culling of the L2s required.
Well at least we’re not continuing to throw good money after funding the oxygen thief previously known as Guru. Trouble is that CM is not the person to evangelise new initiatives as the company needs new blood, not 30 year tenured people who have clearly failed to prevent the current situation. GC looked like he had been handed a steaming pile and was unhappy that he couldn’t just continue to tinker.
Can I get my job back?
Peace Out!
Selfie era is officially over. So long Guru!
@ag+1jj72ck3e We did not get a $4b contract. We got a portion of $4b contract to be shared across multiple suppliers without committed volumes to any single supplier.
Girish to ‘lead’ Central Engineering? Seems like a mess over there.
What/who has he led before his CTO role.? Does he have the EQ to lead a group of overly sensitive engineers?
Stock is down 10% today. Wall Street liked Guru.
Ya but we're all still stuck with MD. Guru was pointless, sure, but Inmarsat was MD's baby, vs3 was MD's baby, and missing LEO disruption was MD's fault. Unfortunately we're now on a roadmap where MD is consolidating his control to avoid accountability. CM is a yes man puppy dog, and now the leadership is a yes man echo chamber of MD MM and CM
Well… we just got a $4+ Billion dollar contract too
Craig Miller taking on role of Senior Vice President Growth Initiatives working closely with MD. Clearly, Guru couldn't hack devising a growth strategy. At least they got him and his ridiculous compensation out of there. They don't plan to add another President as the Guru showed it wasn't worth it.
Finally. Now we can live in peace. Less than 2 years and he already brought in havocs and chaos to our company
The damage has been done. Great job! We wish him the best...bla bla bla.
Good riddance
