Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford ending Lightning production

According to this >>

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/11/06/ford-f-150-lightning-ev.html

...if this is true, what a sorry state of affairs Ford has going....so many PD ICE layoffs , other related layoffs, etc....for this outcome?

Most of the LL that worked on the Lightning program got their promotions and moved on. Even though the F150 Lightning was a big failure, they all got promoted. Good job everyone, now let's get the he-l out of here.

@ad

The situation on the ground and the actions of leadership simply don't reflect this. A retreat from EVs. Do you read much? Do you live in the same reality? Likely not. Use your eyes, ears, and most importantly common sense post haste. Awaken yourself from your drone of an existence. Your uncolorful, uninspired text indicates theres nothing behind those eyes. No spirit, Grey and boring algorithm that simply repeats what it hears from its overlords. You take orders, and that is your purpose.

Where is common sense from the BofD and JF?? Of course customers don’t want all electric vehicles! Why? Duh the range and it takes too long to charge. Of course customers want a hybrid. It’s nice, 40-50 electric miles for every day driving so you don’t have to get gas, but then a full tank of gas as a backup or for long trips. It took billions of dollars and a failed EV to finally figure this out???! WTF??? I could have told the board all this for a 15 minute meeting and I’d only charge them a million bucks instead of JF’s 24 million package or whatever he gets paid - plus I would have saved Ford a billion plus dollars! Insanity!

I am watching on a sideline how Farley and the rest of Apple gang team bring down the company to bankruptcy. The company is no longer different from any others the ones that started 3-5 years ago. The experience is gone forever. The end of Ford.

if the original henry ford saw this huge cost of the batteries, he would have bought mines, ships, etc, whatever necessary to get the costs way down. vertical integration, baby. he showed them how to do it, and they dont do it. but the MBAs and their spreadsheets keep saying "well that's not our core business," then go golfing haha.

Yep, Fartley dumped most ICE engineering. Thats chassis and vehicle side not just powertrain.

And it was more than pensioners. Fartley needed new and smarter engineers to build is damb BEV empire. He should be out of a job right now.
