Packages are already being handed out. It’s the same as before.

The media probably caught wind of “no voluntary packages” and dropped the word “voluntary”. Whether on purpose for clicks or accidental, who knows?

And Intel can choose to ignore it and take the fine. The fine is virtually nothing. Other companies have done this strategy in the past.

Also in states like California, if an employer lays off a significant number of employees, the California WARN Act (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) may require them to provide advance notice, potentially including continued benefits during the notice period, to those employees. That number can be 50 or more employees within a 30 day period at a location.

The main reason a company provides severance is to prevent terminated employees from pursuing legal action against the company, such as wrongful termination. Intel will have to provide severance to protect itself.

For those interested in package details, are you actually working for the company and being let go? If your answer is yes, then you would know the details.

It just got real... wow are you a foo-l. I don't know you personally but you must be really d-mb. How is it that you didn't see this happening since 2016? I retired from Intel as soon as they hired PG. The writing was on the walls, so to speak. They hired PG in Feb 2021 and I left in July 2021. Wanted to work until I was 70 but ...wow... what a d-mb move to hire that guy back.

Good example of the writer not knowing all the detail and publishes the stories anyways.
