Somebody should let Intel know. Just saying.

Age discrimination may be part of the layoffs but wait until you get into the job market. It is not hard to estimate someone's age based off their resume. Age discrimination is real and it will effect everyone at some point in their life. You don't have to be in you 60s or older to feel it. In the job market you will start to see it in your 40s and it will only get worse from there. Good luck trying to prove it. Occasionally someone will win a court case but those are rare.
True. I was at Intel for 28 years. Most of my life and I saw it as a young person and continued to see it until it hit me in my 50s. Intel was found guilty of it in the 2015 layoffs - right? Nothing has changed. https://www.oregonlive.com/silicon-forest/2023/02/intel-appears-to-have-settled-discrimination-lawsuit-from-2015-layoffs.html
OP says old people but he really is just sparking yet another long and winding H1B Troll-fest.
@as if it makes you feel any better I meant average workers who are not Indian Origin H1b. Hard working Americans(mostly white people) are the ones who built most of these companies. I’m not so d-mb to not understand that.
@as Not saying it doesn't make your feelings any less true. At least the other person owned it.
@ar That will make me cheap as the one who specifically mentioned Indian H1b.
@ap The average who? Go ahead and say it. Just own how you feel. You wanted to say "American" or "white person" right? Hate much?
@am Me thinks you do protest too much. I don't have an issue with anyone calling me racist. And again, I wasn't the one who made the comment about 8 out of 10. You just assumed that. Maybe take a look in the mirror and apply your own logic. If people are constantly calling you out for calling everyone who disagrees with you a racist, maybe it's a you problem. The fact that you presume because I called out your nonsense use of the racist accusation that makes me an old white guy kind of shows who the real racist is here.
@aa you think H1bs don’t perform? So funny. Go and check the average H1b income in the US. There is a reason why they are highly paid. They focus on the job and are way more disciplined than average you know who.
@af Again: if you’re being accused of being racist so often that you think that it’s a widespread problem, then it’s probably a personal problem.
If everywhere you go you smell dogshit, you should probably check your shoes.
The fact is that you’re not being let go because you’re old white guys. You’re being fired because you su-k at your jobs and you’re a general waste of resources.
Nothing that you do can’t be done by someone for cheaper, and realistically they’ll do it better than you could.
Our fabs su-k because years of DEI staffed them all with old lazy veterans who think they deserve six figures simply because they’ exist.
@af be careful, if you call them out on calling everyone a racist they will upgrade you to being a hater…
@ae That's adorable. I wasn't even the one who said it, but you start by calling them racist for stating a fact. Not "I hate Indian people", just "8 out of 10 managers surrounding me are Indians". Then when someone calls you out on it, you call them racist, too.
@ad You know what’s wild? I’ve literally never had anyone accuse the things I say that they don’t like of being racist. Maybe you should stop saying racist sh-t if you’re getting this reaction a lot.
@ac AAAAANNNNDDDD there it is; "I don't like what you said, so you're a racist."
@ab you’re a racist and you don’t work for the company. Most of upper-management is white or Asian with the exception of one.
8 out of 10 managers surrounding me are Indians. I am like working in Indian, barely see a real American. The top three levels of managers are all Indians.
Indian Origin h1bs are young. Applying a layoff that punishes time and not of performance allows them to shield the younger Indians, which are on temporary work visas and should be the first to go.
It is age discrimination. The layoff first mention age rules (Rule 75, Rule 70, Rule 65, ....) and make it seems that these people are the most subject to leave. These age rule make people qualify if you are age 55. So Intel is targeting people older than 55. They do not care about experience or performance. It is just short-sighted to cut a few heads to meet the need for the department.
Will you be happy if they call it ROI based discrimination?
National Origin Discrimination should be considered. Is Foundry laying off their Indian Origin workers at an equal rate as the American workers? The EEOC has set National Origin discrimination as their priority and is very common in Tech companies, the new EEOC director understands that Indian managers are discriminating against Americans.
At Micron, Naga's factory was fined for Anti-American Discrimination, he has an M.O. for his preference of people from his country.

Oh nice, so NOW you care about DEI.
That’s nice, grandpa. Let’s get you back to bed…
It is not.
