Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Some people should never be put in charge of others

Yet so many are here at Ford running teams and ruining lives. I’ve worked under a few managers who left real damage behind, but one in particular pushed me to my limit. The stress didn’t stop at work, it followed me home and impacted my health. It takes time to recover from that kind of environment. Just because a company has a shiny brand doesn’t mean it’s safe.

Ford is a toxic mess that has been purposely bred. The Ford+ behaviors are shallow and simply a way to subjectivly promote incompetence while removing competence out of the way of the promotion of FnF. All you have to do is look at the long career of JF at Ford. A long and sourdough history of abusive behaviors, yet he was promoted to CEO and has continued to abuse others while failing spectacularly at his job. Somehow I am guessing he is not getting rated on the Ford + BS behaviors he is shoving down every one else's throats.

@ap I love hyenas. I COOK mine medium whenever I encounter one. And I do mean C-O-O-K! Haven't had one escape me yet and it will stay that way Because that is MY choice. BEWARE though. If you let them take the first bite of their own egotistical self, they tend to disappear because they just cannot stop moving their own jaws! EVER! Can you pass me the steak sauce please? BON APPETIT!

@ak I just pray. Free and easy. Works every time. I have been doing this since the age of 5. Results can seem slow to materialize, but eventually they do (at least for me)! Always have. Always will! ZZzzzz.

Years back we hired a talented experienced engineer. Six months later he resigned. He told me he didn’t want to become like his coworkers. He was disturbed by how bad behaviors were normalized by his coworkers. Mad respect for him. Agree with @ar cowardice is the norm.

@a7+1k0m477yy "Ford is like high school 2.0" ... wouldn't have believed that until I saw it myself. One of my favorites is decisions that get made by who yells the loudest. Very scientific.

We have this LL5 who would shame people in meetings, was always the loudest person and would not hear any counter arguments. It was clear to everyone that he had protection from LL3/4 and he made full use of it. Now with all the churn at leadership level, he is exposed. Will be fun when all his victims give it back. Karma is a bi--h!!

The issue is cowardice. Collectively everyone lets it happen, HR cover it up, the one or two who stand up are shot down, moved and black balled.

"You have likely never worked for a truly evil person. I watched a Ford supervisor serially target subordinates. "

"Yep there are definitely some malignant narcissists in positions of power at Ford. "

Deal with it everyday.

@ah+1k0m477yy I can see both sides. Normal corporate BS should be left at work, put on some tunes and decompress on your commute / hit the gym / sm--k around some tennis ba--s. On the flip side the workplace mobbing its not cool to blame the victim. F anyone who joins in on the mobbing. One coworker took his own life, left 4 young children fatherless. His sin for being a Ford mobbing target? He was competent and had been quickly promoted. Of course the lazy friends and family hyenas couldn’t stand that. When the hyenas saw he was mentally suffering they intensified their mobbing. The Hyenas who attended the funeral were so fake, the widow knew what they had done. I’d like to say the hyenas changed their behavior after this. But they did not.

To reduce lingering stress from bad bosses some people drink every night and try to get some sleep. It is a very unfortunate situation to be in. This can cause very serious health issues prematurely. Protect yourself. NOT WORTH IT.

See a therapist. It’s your responsibility to separate your home and work life, stop blaming others.

@af+1k0m477yy Illustrates @OP point. Ford has a toxic culture of abuse on the factory floor and in the glass house. Jeez what other company has repeated exposes in national news over a 50 year span and still takes no corrective action? @af is likely one of the FnF crowd that willing participates in all the Ford games mobbing, gaslighting, credit-stealing, blame-shifting all the while believing themselves to be an upstanding and moral employee. Ok benchmarking against BF and JF what do you expect?

@a7 "Judge not lest ye be judged". Someone is already in that position and IMHO is doing a fine job with "As you sow so shall you reap"! It is inevitable. My favorite line for fellow CI (Continuous Improvement) SMEs (Subject Matter Expert): "Thank God for id--ts, otherwise we wouldn't have jobs. Relax. Have faith!

I take grandkids to Dunkin Donuts once a week. Like clockwork I see a retired LL5 going into the Pantheion Club across the street from Dunkin’ in Dearborn. Dude is pushing 400 lbs now. The handsy je-k made females uncomfortable in the office for decades.

Here is a proven method/philosophy that always works for me and that NEVER makes me stress. "Analyze and advise. If you want to do it, do it, if you don't want to do it, don't". But NEVER say "Nobody ever told me that" because I will be the 1st to call you out! Isn't that why we all get hired? Of course I've been fired, but never for not doing my job but rather for doing it. NO REGRETS E-V-E-R! So, what stress are YOU referring to? Self-inflicted stress? Here is the most important thing I learned in both business and in life: Any and all stress is "SELF-INFLICTED". SIMPLE!

Yep there are definitely some malignant narcissists in positions of power at Ford. The only safe thing to do when you land under one is leave Ford.

On the flip side have a peek into their lives after they retire from Ford.

I ran into one who is pushing 70 years old while on vacationing in Belgium. The guy was falling down drunk on the street. His wife and daughter were trying to keep him upright and trying to quiet him down. Pathetic.
I ran into another on the golf course, also drunk. This woman was an LL6 who threatened everyone at work with her connections via her LL4 husband. Now she has no power, has packed on a good 80 pounds and is a lush. Also pathetic.

Ford is like high school 2.0
