This is what happens when you work for an Asian... they don't put up with employee whining and cr-p. They'll outsource the work, and fire your a-s. If it magically doesn't work out in six months, they'll re-hire new people that won't complain, willing to work 50hr+, and will take 25%-33% less than those who they replaced. Another strategy is moving HQ or locations no one wants to go, so people quit, and then magically move back in a year. Don't mess with LBT... he's serious about raising Intel stock price.

A lot of companies go for RTO or RTN (normal), even CA government positions. You sure can enjoy staying at home, jobless, as long as you wish.
@aa You must be one of those delusional DIE hires. TMG/IFS is less than worthless if your assumption of 14A and18A is behind is accurate, and Intel Design isn't worth much either. The only thing that's worth anything is maybe their packaging, and some IP that IP vultures might want to gamble on. The company isn't going to split up because TMG/IFS can't afford it... and it would take prob three or four years for Intel Design to port over all the PC and server designs.

I truly wonder what LBT said when he spoke to the BoD before being offered the job. Clearly it wasn’t “I’ll be Pat, but with more layoffs”, that’s not enough to replace your CEO.
My guess is that Pat drew the line at splitting the company. LBT agreed to do it, but obviously can’t say so just yet. Hence the radio silence.
Why are there so many racists here? Lip Bu Tan is clearly gutting the company for sale. Pat had a plan and was vocal about it. Lip bu has been radio silent except when executives leave and he replaces them per nepotism/favoritism. A few of the new replacements are literally executives from his previous company.
Lip bu has no plan, if he does he hasn’t said anything. 14a and 18a are already obsolete. Mark my words, he’s gutting us to make us more attractive to sell. He’s got no plans on restoring our status as a market leader. He gets his golden parachute no matter what. He’s gonna sink the company and go back to watching his grandson play basketball.
