@d1 they aren't needed. See Microsoft. Nontechnical personnel and those not directly tied to revenue are useless. In most areas secretaries make maximum 20k by the way. A person to "manage" a calendar is laughable.

Can you please elaborate why you think product managers will be replaced, i agree with all other roles, especially 2nd level managers. All managers should be replaced who are just data movers and presenters who simply keep attending useless meetings all day and do just data collection from individual contributors

PM's are literally secretaries anyway. Middle Managers don't do much but copy and paste emails. It's a huge waste of money if there are systems that can do this for pennies a day now.

Don’t forget outages caused by AWS 10 days ago, half of the commercial companies shutdown, Amazon will only lose more customers

Government contracts already shut Amazon out during Trump first term, everything went to Microsoft

Just wait for AMAZON to shutdown

Cisco will follow suit. Job roles that can easily be replaced by AI at Cisco include: Business Development Manager, Program/Project Managers, HR, Finance/Accounting, 2nd line managers, Technical Product Manager, etc. Basically, Cisco can eliminate 35% of total workforce and still function properly.

@a7+1k8m1mszc That is exactly what I did years ago after a long run at Cisco. We are majorly overdue for a correction, we are just starting to see this with layoffs. The prudent thing to do is to be frugal, get rid of debt, and hanker down. Tech has ran its course; the next wave is indeed AI, which depending who you talk to or what show you watch on the finance channel; AI is potentially already in a bubble. If folks have a family to support, a wise move now is to move on from Tech.

I have already talked to my wife - I’m getting out of Tech. Will downsize my house and pay down for a place all cash. I suggest everyone hunker down and protect yourself against a potential market crash in the next 1-2 years, dramatically reduce your debt and diversify your holdings.

Amazon
is preparing to announce sweeping job cuts beginning Tuesday, CNBC has learned.

The layoffs will amount to the largest cuts to Amazon’s corporate workforce in the company’s history, spanning almost every business, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named because the details are confidential.

Amazon is expected to begin informing employees of the layoffs via email Tuesday morning, the person said.

The company plans to lay off as many as 30,000 staffers across its corporate workforce, according to Reuters, which first reported the news.
