Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

When do we reach a breaking point?

Layoffs are being carried out by the numbers only. There hasn’t been a hint of strategic thinking in how the cuts are made. In reality, that means some teams are reduced to bare bones, talent is let go disproportionately, and critical roles aren’t being backfilled. It all has to give at some point. And that moment doesn’t seem far away.

@a9 Good advice. I stayed too long at the trough. 13 years. I landed quickly with slight advancement, but I wouldn't want to tie my personal brand to Cisco for too long these days. It is not respected now nearly as much as even 5 years ago, when its reputation was dropping.

Yeah I’m done giving a fu** about anything while I’m looking for my next job. Heck Cisco doesn’t deserve ANY respect. I’m just a cog here.
