Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Starting new job while on sabbatical?

Is it allowed to work at another company while still on Intel's payroll? My manager started at Lam the week he started his sabbatical. He is still approving things for my group. I don't know if he has officially given his notice even.

You can work a different job on sabbatical but cannot be a conflict of interest and must be signed off by corporate.

@OP Your boss can work somewhere else while on sabbatical; however, he is not allowed to do work for Intel on sabbatical, thus the name .

Your manager is a fu--ing 🐐

I hope he comes back and doesn’t quit.

Make Intel find out and fire him.

@dq It may be but it sure is entertaining. 😂 Given how sh---y leadership has been over the most recent years, I wouldn't snitch. I guess that means I have no integrity but neither do the incompetents running it.

@a9 … I got 2 decent checks during the Christmas holidays in 2015 (might have been 2014) as a settlement for similar behavior by Intel and 4 or 5 tech companies. None of the companies involved admitted guilt but they are paid into a fund that was distributed to employees of specific job categories at each company. I wasn’t even looking for a job back then.

OP, if you are sure of this, I will strongly encourage you to report it at both employers. This is the right thing to do. Thank you.

Integrity is when you do the right thing even when no one is looking.

Obviously this guy has none.

Actually you should report it to Lam. Because they would fire him too. He’ll go from 2 jobs to no jobs quick.

100% against corporate policy, but what's gonna happen? Is Intel going to fire him when he was already going to leave? LOL

To all those crying foul just remember Intel had no problem forcing Apple and Google to not make job offers to existing Intel employees

If you don’t tell HR you will be in violation of policy and so can lose your job as well. Go look it up.
