How the F does anyone know if it’s a DEI hire. Does the person have to wear a pin identifying the hire?

For those folks who know it’s obvious, you have no business in your current job because you are too busy in others business.

Part of your job is finding a way to get along with the folks you have around you. You all interviewed for a job to come to Cisco. You all thought it was a good idea.

You know why folks thinks it su-ks to work at Cisco is folks like those who threaten to make anonymous accusations. Causing fear and distrust.

You want Cisco a better place to work, do your job, which includes be a good coworker.

...aren’t you supposed to be about American freedom.

And we never had t3rrr0r1sm until 9/11 despite having a city nicknamed B0mb1ngham, Alabama for b0mb1ngs that started in the 1940s.

Don't believe the data sheets.

People calling for reporting Cisco, aren’t you supposed to be about American freedom. Capitalism, free market and all?

You are free to leave cisco and you should, please do, instead of acting like a loser calling a hotline to complain that an executive made a comment which appeared to be pro this or pro that. This is not 1940’s Germany.

The level of childishness and mob mentality is off the charts on this thread.

Angry old white guy mob all over this thread. Bring down your conspiracy theory b.s. down a notch.

Are you even capable of self reflecting that you are blaming your failures in life on the fact that others who are not like you have been shown to be more than capable of running businesses and creating amazing technical advancements?

Maybe, just maybe, you are instead vulnerable to layoffs and reduced benefits now because the rich oligarchs have made it so? If someone is robbing you blind, at least identify the right thief instead of following their manufactured narrative. They are laughing at you too from their mansions.

It’s not a zero sum game. Check your greed already.

As a competent straight white male I've never been excluded. The straight white guys who I saw publicly complaining were at the bottom and needed to be replaced for competence, not DEI reasons.

I've seen plenty of people not in my check box actively yet randomly discriminated against, and I'd bet good money that even when people in my check box are randomly discriminated against, based on who holds the power, it's unlikely that we're discriminated against at anywhere near the same rate. If you're a white guy feeling pain know that other groups have been experiencing this for centuries, and instead of trying to maintain those centuries of discrimination learn to work with people who have differences irrelevant to the work at hand because that is an unconditional prerequisite to building a true meritocracy.

For the clueless lefties, there is plenty of racism and s-xism among non-white groups as well. I'm tired of reading articles about how Cisco had too many white people when 5% of my director's US reports were white. Those projects had the same catastrophic failure rate as any I had seen in groups far more representative of the US populace so merit had no more prominence there than anywhere else at Cisco.

cisco would rather go under than to do anything other than support degenerate lib policies. High probability that you see headcount 30% of what it is today in 3-5 years if that. How much of that government business you think they are getting with the current id--ts in the ELT keep pumping that stupidity after the country has shown they are over it? They are panicking now.

What political opinions were pushed?

All they said was they will continue to embrace a diverse and inclusive workforce as it's been proven to be good for innovation and for their business. Why does that bother you?

Weird how you would support a government telling a company how to run their own business

Bottom line: Many believe Cisco leaders shouldn't use their platform to push—or even hint at—their political opinions. But that's exactly what the ELT did on the last Beat.

Having this opinion doesn’t mean you're "crying" or have a "fragile ego."

...the philosophy of the GE leader who used the ranked order metric & laid off the bottom 5% every year.

The current republican party thinks Ronald Reagan was a libtard his entire life. Chambers in the role of Cisco CEO was definitely a republican of his time but he only had the guts to do 5%. Neutron Jack who invented the practice at GE fired the bottom 10% every year:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitality_curve

The funny thing is neither acknowledged the D players who make mistakes costing the company far more than the aggregate of any positive contribution they make so they're worse than deadwood. Because management can't admit they let these kinds of mistakes happen they end up promoting the failures to a different manager so it becomes someone else's problem. I saw it at companies big and small including both GE and Cisco.

Chambers was definitely a Republican. Co-chaired McCain’s 2008 Presidential bid. Believed in trickle down economics & the philosophy of the GE leader who used the ranked order metric & laid off the bottom 5% every year. Just bc he was able to su-k up to Dem’s didn’t make him a RINO, it made him a political CEO.

Chambers was not a Republican, RINO at best, Fence sitting moderate is more accurate. Jumped whichever way the political wind was blowing.

Its easy to ask low level employee for status/accomplishments and blame them for next LRs, try asking that to Director and above.. like Sr Dir/VPs(those of DEI hire, buddies, veggies)

@a9+1jmyy9rc0, JC was a staunch Republican so not sure why you think Cisco is some progressive CA tech co. DEI was in place under Chambers.

What is it about making sure that every group no matter race or gender has a fair shot at opportunities makes you feel so angry and upset?

Having an issue with DEI doesn’t mean you’re “crying” or have a “fragile ego.”

However, if that’s your go-to insult, you might be the one who needs to grow up.

Love it. Fragile egos in this thread still crying about DEI. Meanwhile the business is growing. The increased AI partnership with NVIDIA sounds very promising for next year.

Just typical big tech leadership from a progressive California company throwing a tantrum because Conservatives are back in charge in the US. More of the same passive-aggressive bitterness wrapped in stale, outdated messaging.

A masterclass in what bad, antiquated leadership looks like.

Yes, now is the time to go after Cisco leadership. If you see any more DEI activity first file a complaint with HR then immediately hire a lawyer. Also, use your social to promote #FireCiscoLeadership. There is a growing movement to oust Chuck and other leaders, by a very sizable group of stockholders. They will be making public statements later in the spring I heard. This will be a big push to rid the company of the Dali Lamas su-king on Cisco's dwindling cash reserves.

Cisco just can’t help themselves with DEI. Even after the EO - still pushing it. If you see any DEI based decisions, file a report and bust these jokers.
