If you weren’t here you would be hanging out on Baseline st and oak st. There is already a few of our former colleagues there.

@c3 you have totally no idea what you’re writing. The LLMs does not learn without data. I believe in 2-3 years there will be a market for engineers that will fix all this bullsh-t code.

@aa Tech will not recover for human workers. Tech will be taken over by AI as it is slowly starting to. The problem with AI is that it is continuously writing it's own code to teach itself and improve itself, and the original human writers no longer know or understand what AI is doing - they don't understand or have control of the algorithm. If our college grads are having a tough time finding a job with 1 opening and 300 resume's applying for that one job, you know the future is not bright for human jobs.

You are here because you drank the Intel koolaid for 10 years and now no one will hire you cause your skills are outdated you relish working in beuracrcy and don’t even know it your so brainwashed. Sad but true of most Intel employees. We are all trapped in this prison.

I will tell you why @OP - look at your resume and ask yourself if you can find another job that pays what you get at Intel and get and pass interviews. You know the answer and that is why you are still here

@aa This is going to become the new normal in the age of AI. There’s not suddenly going to magically be lots of jobs everywhere.

@a8 That’s a depressing assessment. Then my next question: Will Tech recover as it’s done time and time again, or are those bygone days? I honestly don’t know

Cause the US economy is not doing all that well as corporations pass down the tariff cost to consumers. In Q2, corporations like Walmart wrote a check to the US gov't for tariffs, but now that paycheck has to be paid by someone and will be passed down to consumers. Q3 is going to be bad even as Fed cuts rates because rate cuts take a while to take affect. It doesn't happen overnight.
You are still at Intel cause you need a paycheck and healthcare. You don't want to be laid off in this economy. I don't work for this company but I had one job opening for an engineer with Masters degree and I got over 300 resumes with half of them with PhD's. The job market is really bad.

@OP You haven't fulfilled your special purpose. Once you, you'll be able to move on.
